Hi K
Glad the driving went well. Is there a reason he doesn't let you drive home already? DD did it from the word go although the first few times we weren't sure which pavement she was aiming for when she pulled up :rotfl:
I like the sound of all the activities you've booked apart from the rats and mice bit
I have a sensitive DS as well. He's not that bad these days and wasn't really one for crying but any raised voices, even if I was just shouting upstairs to hubby and he would start to look really worried and ask if we were arguing.Bless them. Never had it with DD, she has the sensitivity of a house brick. :rotfl:
Hope you all have a lovely weekend. xx0 -
Just where I live its busier roads, I've not known anyone drive home in their first lesson lol, your daughter must be ace
Ohhh I love rats and micewe have always had hamsters so the kids should love it
Same bless him, if me and hubby aretalking loudly about something on tv he always worries bless him

Hi K, hope you're all having a lovely weekend. Thinking about the driving, we live in a really quiet area and it's used for driving lessons so that's obviously why DD drove home right from the word go.
We've had hamsters, guinea pigs and a rabbit but I don't know why, the thought of mice and rats just makes me shudder. My niece has a pet rat but thankfully she lives down south and they tend to come up here to visit, so I don't have to pretend I like it. :rotfl:
These boys are precious aren't they. xx0 -
Funnily enough I said to my driving instructor on friday that I wonder if it annoys people who live in the area we were driving through lol, so is it annoying lol
I Love mice, we had a family of mice in our garage, we managed to catch them (4 babies and the mam) we kept them in a old hamster cage till the mice were about 5 weeks old then set them free, they were field mice though, so I am not sure how I would feel about the ones you get that come into houses lol
I don't mind rats, not sure if I would have one as a pet but DS best friend had them and I used to play with them there lol
I used to hate rabbits (I babysat one for two weeks and he was evil and bit me etc) but we went to a farm last year and they had rabbits and they were sooooooooo lush
I really want a guinea pig, but need to wait till we have a bigger house, cos I want a big run for it etc
They really are bless them, it's his year groups trip away this week, 5 days they are away for, I think it's too long, they are only 8/9, he flat out didn't want to go, I knew he wouldn't want to, he hates the thought of not sleeping it the same house as me for one night nevermind 4!!!
I am off work today, my mam (who normally does monday school run) is away in the lakes, so decided on a day off rather than £30 in wraparound care at school lol
Not much planned other than what I Want on tv and crochet, and staying away from news and social media as I haven't watched the GoT finale yet (will watch it later with our tea when kids in bed)
11 days till Centre Parcs eek

Hi K
So glad to read you enjoyed the holiday and I bet the look on the children's faces was priceless.
I agree, I think 5 days at that age is a long time. DS's first trip away was in Y6 and he was 11. It was for 2 nights and he was glad to get home. I think it depends on the child though. DD went away in Y5 and didn't even wave to me when she was on the coach!
In answer to your question about driving, no it doesn't bother me. The council had the bright idea of installing road humps several years ago - no idea why, it's a really quiet area and they must have got a good quote because there are loads of them so everybody crawls around anyway. The only slight gripe I have is they do manoeuvres on the 'main' roads when there's loads of other quiet roads they could usebut apart from that my thinking is everybody was a learner at some point.
Have a good week. xx0 -
Glad you and the kids enjoyed the holiday! I've never done a CP holiday before, but done similar camping-style holidays in holiday camps in Europe. We love that kind of trip - the freedom, the outdoors but also the activities to tap into if you want them is just great.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Yeah tea I can see my two being the same, DD would probably be totally fine
They are fab aren't they homegrown. I want to try some out in Europe
I have just updated my signature with things, I have managed to put some more money away for Cyprus, and need to start saving for Centre Parcs when we get back from Cyprus lol
Our car is having issues, it's losing it's power for some reason and making some wooshing noise, so that is waiting to go in the garage, mam has lent us some money for a second car (not sure if I mentioned that?) we weren't going to buy one till I had passed my test, but we have bought one now as OH didn't want to drive the car till it was fixed as didn't want to make it worse, so he is happy, he has his Jimny back (we had one years ago but got rid cos it's no good as the only family car), so we need to get "my" car in the garage and get that fixed, there isn't a massive rush as I haven't even taken my test yet but I don't want it just getting forgot about!
I started doing Intermitting Fasting last thursday and I am in love with it, I didn't think I would cope cos you can only have black coffee and tea and water in your fast window and I love a latte lol, but I have discovered I like black coffeeso first week in and I lost 3lbs I am so happy cos I Have been struggling to lose anything!
Also some great news coming from OH work, there is a job lined up for him once he finishes his Uni course (so next summer), he will be head of IT Curriculum at the council where he works, it's two bands higher than he is currently on, I'm so proud of him, I know we shouldn't count our chickens till they are hatched, but his boss has been pretty good with things like this in the past, she doesn't tell him things unless they are 100% going to happen.
Think once I pass my test we will have to lower the debt repayments for a while (till OH gets the new job really) as we will have extra petrol and insurance to pay for (and car tax but we are already paying two of them now), but I am ok with that, as I will increase them back up once we have more money coming in
I have just done the housework, and once I have done my bits on here, I am going to end my fast with a latte and bacon and poached egg, then have a nice afternoon crocheting myself a scarf till I pick the kids up
