Hi all, missed last week due to combination of black puppy (clearly the "spelt and pumpkin" bread had wheat in it which always makes me want a dark cupboard to hide in until the world has gone away) then lots of work (which was good).

Started today by zipping up to turn on the immersion before breakfast as the sun was out, so I could have enough hot water to mop the kitchen and bathroom (hadn't read today's list at this stage!).
    -did digging in garden
    -other various weeding/tidying/watering greenhouse
    - hoovered all downstairs
    - did aforementioned mopping
    - tidied bedroom a bit and cleaned sink
    - did intermittent scans on pc as it is playing up
    - got lesson ready for student in afternoon
    - just got back from Body Pump class

So definitely a much better week, hope it lasts.

  • evening flyladies, reporting in with a tardy slip......going to log on every day and say something has gone.

Today my bed has been made (DD2 has been extracted for Uni yesterday and home for a month, she has done her bed....DD3 has done hers) and DD4 cot stuff flung in basket for washing and copious spares from wardrobe flung in her cot.

I fielded phone call from Solicitors today, they are going to take Mr"I can't drive for a W£rth£r's original" to court, but it could take months.

No Group for the BD today as I went to Dr's this morning with a lumpy puppy (this lump has had my beady eye on it for 3 weeks) and within the hour I had been given an appt at puppy clinic at the Horsepiddle for 4th of April.

Official results for my glucose tolerance test should be back tomorrow, (although unofficially I know I have failed in spectacular fashion) just in time for me to meet Jaw Surgeon at 12 o'clock ......I am tempted to keep my mouth shut on both other issues and see if I can nail a date for surgery out of him first and then postpone it IF other surgery becomes more of a priority.

I know it's all downhill from 40, but I didn't expect it to be a sheer faced cliff

Time to put on a smiley face :D:D:D get back on Fred for a quick catch up, then maybe try a little something from Listy and check back in with you good folks tomorrow

bedroom is looking much tidier now

just played hunt the stop taps with DS2 - his scout homework was find and photograph the gas water and electric turn off taps in the house. water one is a pain in the proverbial you have to empty a kitchen cupboard and crawl in it to reach!

    Top activity there from scouts.

    Skinty healthy hugs for you

Mumto5 hope things are settling down

I have wasted far too much time today, mainly on the internet so not got as far as I would have liked. I have read all my papers for tomorrow's meeting though. I just need to check some minutes, find some details and send and email to the head.

Also have WU to do but first tomorrow's list :D

Just eaten a frog before bed, took less than 10 minutes so why have I been putting it off since 7:10 this morning?

  • Good morning ladies. Was watching DGS yesterday so ended up doing 2 hrs ironing for my DD!! Doesn't do anything for my house though! Oh, also did some tidying in the garden, so that's positive. Will attack kitchen after work tonight.

Have a good (productive) day folks.

Hang on in there Skinty - we're all rooting for you. It's so hard to be ill (whether BD or physical symptoms or just feeling under the weather) when you have small children who need you 100% of the time. I'm glad you've got DD2 home to help you through this difficult month. My DH also went to the GP yesterday with a lump in his breast and is being referred to the hospital. (((Hugs))), posi-vibes and prayers for both of you, and I hope your visit to the Jaw Surgeon goes well.

Yesterday evening DH painted half a wall in the utility - it's now a lovely sunny yellow in what was a very dark and dismal room. (We've painted the other walls white.) The old garage was converted by the previous owners to a breakfast room, which being sunless would have started my day in the worst possible way: since the refurb, we have an east-facing kitchen with a table which looks out over the front garden and welcomes the morning sun.

Meanwhile I dealt with an amphibian of massive proportions: digging the back border, I disturbed a beautiful big toad. He waddled off to the next clump of blue geraniums as I demolished half of the one he was residing in. I must take extra care when I get to the other clump. There is a step up to the back gate with a suitable dark toady space underneath it, so hopefully I can persuade him that this would make an excellent home. We are on toad-coloured sandy soil here - a great joy after the pure clay seam that ran right across the garden of our old house, and very light to dig.

I am waiting for it to be light enough to go out and water all the plants that I have in pots, and to empty a bag of manure onto the area that I cleared completely yesterday evening - all before breakfast! After that, my personal list goes on to say
    - shower
    - S&S all round
    - ring to order spare parts for F/F in utility - we want to hang the doors on the other side
    - SW, after which DH will walk home, while I take a...
    - quick trip to the tip with 2 trugs full of ivy, on my way to...
    - have lunch with my niece and admire her new home, then...
    - catch up with FBO over :coffee: (I haven't forgotten the official FlyLady Meet in Birmingham which I will organise in the Easter hols)
    - on my way home, return unused textured paint to W!cke$ - the utility ceiling only took 2 coats
    - cook evening meal (gammon and oven chips)
    - while DH goes out to model railway club, do filing in the study bedroom before I disappear under a heap of paper
    - find shelf supports for CD rack and put it together
    - wrap DGS3's birthday present ready to take to him tomorrow :D
    That should keep me busy!

I have decluttered a cuppa whilst typing this and DH has just brought me another :A

Hope everyone has a good day. (((Hugs))), spoons and sticks all round.

    Morning all.
Ionafan sounds like you have a busy day today.
You've reminded me that we have paint for the hall/stairs (it's a very light yellow, my first attempt at colour other than cream). I might try to wash the walls and paint them myself, can hear dh protesting already but been waiting over a year for him to do it.
This morning i will be working in the kitchen and need to find the living room floor.
well kids are up so need to finish my coffee and get them ready for school.

    Morning everyone

Yesterday was a rubbish day. Work was hard going, and then I had to do some paperwork for my voluntary job which was more difficult than I thought. DS2 was off school feeling sick/headachy/sleepy and the kids did nothing but argue and really wound me up. All I ended up managing to do was hoover the kitchen and utility at about 9pm last night. Sigh.

Anyhow, today is another day. Off to put stew in the sc in a minute and I was hoping to get out with the dog for a long walk this aft but we will see how the time goes. Have got to finish the paperwork today.

I am also trying to work out how to get the teenagers to do more. At the moment they get pocket money for doing nothing and I was thinking of paying them for doing jobs around the house instead. Maybe drawing up a list of small jobs then giving them 50p for each one they do. A bit of me thinks they should help without being paid for it though.

    Right, need to get moving.
