How did the weekend go, Pigpen?
KH was a KH of epic proportions. Had a text argument with him.. it seems he is of the belief DS2 is all things evil and Tiddles needs a halo and wings.. deluded!!!!! He also seems to think they never get told off for anything.. I love text arguments, I am so much better at them and they are far more peaceful than using ones voice and having to yell, I hate shouting. While I was not here he apparently came in MY house, went upstairs and manhandled DD3 out of the house!!!!! screamed and shouted and swore at the older 3 who told him where to go apparently
I think his sister may be taking amphetamines or some similar drug.. .. lack of appetite, weight loss, inability to sleep, shaking/tremors, palpitations, agitated, bruising from numerous tumbles, paranoia.. etc.. I'm saying nothing because I will just look like a female dog.. but there is something not right there.
His mother was fine.. his dad seemed to enjoy playing with Dot.. she had him playing skittles. The dog was farmed out so it was much better with Squeak not being hysterical every time it moved.
Todays list..
laundry, laundry and more laundry
clear and vacuum the middle room
Get a knife on the limescale in the loo.. it is not shifting with anything so if the knife doesn't work I'm getting a grenade!
Boss children to clear their crap off the landing.. or I am binning the lot. which may include several pairs of DD3's shoes and a lot of clothing..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Pigpen - what a weekend, bet your glad its Monday
Mumto5 - healing hugs x
Dusty - the feeling of being out of control is well known here - hope you get sorted :]
Been to local town to pay cheque in [account sighs with relief] Also went into bakery to get some rolls for lunch - woman serving us was so rude I got mad and told her not to bother and walked out!! Don't normally do that sort of thing but being tutted at because I asked the price and then sighed and with an evil glare cos I said I wanted something that she thought I shouldn't have [crusty and not soft rolls] was the final straw for me, so thats a bakery I won't be going back to :]
Home now, had food, DH is away to bed cos its worn him out and I'm away to do the bathroom before we get evicted for a health and safety issue lolProjects made for craft fair - 40
1st fair on 13/4/14 :j0 -
My washing machine has just gone bang!
It's something mechanical as it was still spinning so the electrics must be OK, there's a lot of brown gritty carp all over my white bedlinen now *sigh* Time for a new one.
Does anyone have any recommendations regarding WM brands/models to you'd recommend/actively avoid?
Current machine is a Miele and is as old as the hills, it was left when DH bought the flat and really looks like a relic but it has served us well over the past 18 months, getting an awful lot more action than I suspect it used to. Looking at JL, a similar Miele is around £900  I'm not necessarily looking for a cheap replacement but I think I will be struggling to convince DH I need to spend almost a grand on one.
And to top it off, the kitchen sink is almost completely blocked, I looked in the u-bend and that's clear so the blockge is further along the piping, and someone has broken the top off the TRV in the kitchen, it doesn't seem to be leaking but obviously can't be adjusted now.
I was in such a good mood this morning...!0 -

Morning all ... sorry I'm late .. been manic here lately hope all is well ty for list dusty hugs to those that need want one ...
Oh just a quick one .. you know how a few weeks ago I posted saying it's one thing after another since ds2 was born ... well we found out last week he's lactose intolerant ... strangely I had only gone to the Dr's the week before about re establishing my milk supply so u can put him back on the breast ... he's currently on 'special' formula but I'm pumping as often as possible ... as well as seeing to kids etc ... partner has been good but could be better...
I'm off to make a cuppa go to the loo see to baby and hopefully get some flying done before pumping again at 12.30 ... back soon200 weeks £25,000.00 / £7000 -
Progress is slow due to friends keep phoning but progress is progress. Just want to get the shower room finished before lunch.
Fizz - I have a miele, bottom of the range, it is good but not as good as my previous old one, they don't make them the same anymore (something to do with which factories make them)The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
rofl.. anyone any ideas how to force an 18 y/o into the shower ... that is what I have to do by all accounts... bahahahaha... by not doing so I am a failure as a parent
Fizz... My 2 Samsungs are great.. before these I had Zanussi and never had an issue with them at all.. avoid Hotpoint, riddled with faults and really expensive to repair because they are rip off merchants and their machines are cheap crap they go wrong a lot. Beko.. avoid.. they like to spontaneously combust! Philips.. avoid.. they are a bag of crap and spend more time broken than working!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I suspect that's the case with the majority of brands these days! I have discussed this with friends before, once upon a long ago a WM would have served you well for 20+ years, now if you get 6 from a new one you're considered to be doing well.
Before I moved, I had a Hotpoint which was fine and lasted me about 5 years, when it died (think the pump failed) I didn't get it repaired as I had a spare in the shed(!) -- a friend was moving away and donated her Bosch to me and I kept it in reserve. I sold it when I moved (shh, don't tell said friend), I transported the entire contents of my old house (minus beds and sofas) in my Mondeo but I think shifting the WM would have been the straw that broke the suspension springs!
Looking at JL, they have a Bosch Exxcel for £418 with £50 cashback; we have some vouchers left over from wedding presents so I think we would be out of pocket to the equivalent of a cheap Beko/Indesit washer from Argos.
It also has an 8kg wash capacity -- my current machine is 4 or 4.5kg! I'm quite giddy at the prospect :rotfl:0 -
Fizz - I have a Bosch wm - had it 13+ years now. Just checked the one you are thinking of on Which - is best buy gets 72%
Going to have a sit down after vol job this morming - love it but it exhausts me totally so I need a nap!
Will try to get onto list this pm. Anyone for HHC at 2?
Welcome to all newbies and thanks for the lists Natty and Dusty - forgetting my manners!July 16 £95/£200
Nov 16 £0/£200
