A quick update tonight.
Late night from work again, 7:30 home, then shower and change before heading off to a party.
Today is not a NSD because...
Woop woop, two days in a row have been NSDs. I didn't have a sneaky breakfast on the way in, cos it's friday, nor did I raid a supermarket for munchie foods on the way home. Wine for the party came from the 'wine cellar'
to counteract this
I've done nothing today, just too tired
to improve my MFW status
I'll just keep working, working means I don't have time to spend, or do anything really so that's a plan...
Husband has landed home now, so the weekend will be spent being domesticated, prepping for next week at work and trying to get some rest.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and I'll catch up with you all soon.
Goodnight, sleep well.

Hi Wish,
Just found your diary.
Car munchies for me are nuts and seeds, I especially like sunflower seeds.
Oh, and I'm in my mid 30s and extremely young and fabulous so you've no worries on the age front!
Congratulations on the nsd.

Sadly nuts are out for me, I get a mild to medium allergic reaction. Some seeds are ok they, so that is a possibility.
Thank you.

Evening all,
Today has been about recharging the batteries, a long lie in followed by one of my favourite past times, pottering in the kitchen... Here comes the low down.
Today was not a NSD because
I needed to do the weekly food shop, husband goes away on Wednesday for work (again) so, in theory I've only got 4 meals to plan, as I tend to live on left over meals when he's away. However, I'm going away next Saturday to work on the same event as husband is and all entertainment techs appreciate cake, so I've stocked up on lots of baking ingredients, which wiped out any savings I would have made, but I still stayed within budget and bought £4 of supermarket saving stamps, which takes my savings stamp card up to £50. (More on that later)
to counteract this and to improve my MFW status
I've pre prepared 4 meals today, and the pie I made for tea has enough left overs for 4 more portions.
There is a fruit cake cooking as we speak which will be frozen in preparation for the Easter holiday adventures.
I've picked up my knitting needles again today. We have 12 nieces/nephews/god children/ best friend's kids, which is not very mse for Christmas/birthday. For birthday's they usually get books of some description, I've recently discovered Jack and the Flum Flum tree by Julia Donaldson which I've ordered in bulk from the book people to give out. But for Christmas I've decided to knit them all a toy animal. So I've got 12 lots of heads, ears, arms, legs and bodies to make. If I really put my mind to it I can knit half a toy in a weekend, but I do need to crack on, so it's not a panic in November/December and I end up spending more money.
I've also started keeping a savings stamp card from the supermarket.
We've been away for Christmas for the past couple of years, so I anticipate being home this year, but we will probably have guests. I don't want my mfw status suffering by increased shopping bills. I also get a lot of gift extras from the supermarkets, so my savings stamps will help there. I usually buy stamps to round up to the next rounding figure.
Cake smells cooked now, so, have a good evening people, keep saving.

Early post today as I have to crack on with the planning for next week, and attempt to round off all my class paperwork to hand over to their new teacher.
Today was not a NSD because...
I get in the car a see a huge crack up the windscreen. GRRRRR #75 insurance excess to pay, but that is still less than the next cheapest quote was at renewal time.
To counteract this & improve my MFW status
the clocks going forward means the evenings are lighter, so less money on lighting bills?
A couple of surveys completed.
but generally just feeling a bit sorry for myself... off to eat some of the cake I made yesterday.
Hope everyone else has had a better day.Mortgage outstanding: [STRIKE]£47,750 (August 2014)[/STRIKE] [STRIKE][/STRIKE]£46,950 (Nov 14)[STRIKE][/STRIKE] £44,900 (June 2015)

You just have the Sunday blues. I recommend a bath or shower, a cup of tea and a book in bed. X0

Evening all,
By the time I got to 'update diary' on my to do list last night, the forums had closed for repair, so I was thwarted. I think though I may have been a complete grump last night, so perhaps better I update today, for both today and yesterday.
today is not a NSD because..
Monday: it was a NSD until husband and I went to check out a new restaurant that has opened in our area, not quite walking distance, but close enough. Food was lovely, service ok, and it was nice to spend some time together, husband has been home for the equivalent of a working week, in blocks of 36hours max since Feb half term. He's away again from tomorrow for 2.5 weeks, I'm joining him on Saturday, but we won't see much of each other as we'll be on different 'shifts'
The money for dinner came from his spends account, so no impact on our MFW status.
Tuesday: I filled my car up today, I have an account for fuel which I pay £50 a month into, it doesn't always last, but I only needed to fill up half a tank, which admittedly was £42, but I got 2p litre off, and my fuel for the trip to husband's work at the weekend will be refunded, my car won't move for the two weeks we are there, so I'm hoping that it will last longer than normal.
The first of the month is when the majority of my direct debits are paid, about £1000 goes out, but this does include the fuel money, Christmas and summer holiday savings, so it's not all money out of the system, some of it is just shuffled round.
Today is also the date that the mortgage interest lands in the account, so I now owe more than I did until today's payment clears... Keep calm wish, it will be ok.....
I've taken lunch to work both days so far, but today's is still sat in the work fridge as I didn't stop for long enough to eat. (I know this is bad, and could lead to home time munchies, but I resisted, and I just didn't stop)
So I think I'm counting yesterday as a NSD and today as a PSD (planned spend day)
to counteract this and improve my MFW status
You are all having a bad influence on me, but in a good way. I'm a very organised, tidy, data type person, but until I 'met' you all I'd never considered having 'neat' amounts of money in bank accounts, to the point where I transferred 2p form the current account to the bill account as the current account was ending 22p and the bills account 98p, it was just too neat to turn down.
Using my 'overrounding' from the bills that have gone out today, I've repaid £5 of the £75 I took out to pay for the windscreen replacement. My aim is still to get this account up to £1000 pretty quickly, but I'll look at those figures just before my next payday.
Husband transferred his contribution to the joint account yesterday, and gave us a little bonus to pay for things while we're away in the next couple of weeks, this too led to an 'awkward' amount in the account, so £5.07 transferred to the mortgage account (but it's not shown up yet)
My final MFW news is that I've seen a job, with a promotion (=pay rise) that I'd be stupid not to apply for. I'm only telling you all as a commitment to actually get the application in. It's much closer to home, so we could potentially manage on one car, but that is jumping too far ahead, I need to find my teacher number before I can even apply.....
Congratulations on getting this far and thank you for all your encouragement. I'm looking for some other diaries to follow, so point me in a direction please.
