Another chalk here and you are younger than me. Also middle management though I feel more like a mushroom.
    Welcome and good luck.

  • I'm tired and unsurprisingly...

Today was not a NSD because

I walked out of the house without my soup and other lunch things...
Went to the local for some tea with colleagues before a late meeting

    To counteract this:

I bought a bag of mint imperials to be my home time munchies, the thinking being that I can chomp on a couple on the way home, hopefully preventing the 'need' to shop on the way, when feeling hungry.
Other suggestions for home time munchies will be gratefully received.

    to improve my MFW status

Eat healthily... For me eating healthily is much cheaper than the alternative.

    1) I meal plan, so only buy what I need/use
    2) I plan slimming world friendly meals, and usually eat only 'free' food during the day
    3) I batch cook my lunches, no spending on expensive lunches (today was a fail......)
    4) an evening meal for two will usually feed at least 4, meaning two portions in the freezer for when I'm home alone, which is quite often at the moment. And means if husband is away for a week my food bill could be quite small. This is going well so far.

Signing off now, I'm so tired and it's only Wednesday.
I wonder what tomorrow holds in store?

How about making some of the SW website 'recipe of the week' quiches for in the car?

I made them to take to work for breakfast this week and really enjoyed them.

  • Evening all,

How did we get to Thursday already? I feel I've achieved very little this week, my to do list is growing not shrinking and, although I'm pleased the week is ending, I could do with a few more hours to whittle away at the mountain.

But, I've still got time for today's update.

Today is not a NSD because...

But it IS a NSD! I did it, first one ever (in the life of my MFW diary)

    To counteract this:

I don't need to, but I'm still keeping up with the good habits,
    I remembered my lunch today

Colleagues for whom I had made warehouse purchases have paid me back today, but it's cash, so I need to squirrel it somewhere so I don't spend it, might stick it in the cleaner pot, because I've made a rule that I don't borrow from there any more.
Had a 'freezer meal' for tea (left overs for 1 that have been homemade)
Need to start thinking about next week's meals, husband back tomorrow, then away again from Tuesday (I think) but i'm working late tomorrow, then a party, so I may have to supermarket on Saturday URGH!!!

I've completed 2 surveys today, so I'm 1/3 way towards an amazon voucher now, which I will use for a book I was going to buy, but I'm not going to now.

    To improve my MFW status

The 49,318.67 mortgage balance looked untidy… so I've made a payment of £18.67 today.

Keep going everyone, and thank you for your encouragement.
