Thank you, thank you INOD and lovely Liltster
I am having a few challenges - fluey like symptoms, new job, oh job probs and my coursework, but I am coping (in a very me way). But it's all thanks to you guys. I'm feeling very positive despite all of this. So apologies if I'm not around much at the moment, but I will be as soon as this is all sorted. Hopefully Feb will bring some calm. Xx

Thanks so much bunnies. It means a lot to me.
Oh the times they are a changing, but.... OH is using this as an opportunity, hopefully things will be taking a turn for the better. It will mean a lot of work, but the future could be rosy and lovely.
Off to find out about working families tax credits.

All sounds good.
Things I know about working tax credits: Over 30 hours, either with one person doing 16+ and the other one making up the rest, or one doing all of the hours earns you a premium roughly £700 a year on top of your tax credits. Brackets are split into £5000 increments. So if you are just below £10,£15k etc, or just above, you are either very lucky or very unfortunate. There are several calculators and all will give you slightly different figures.
If your income is less than £16,110 (or somewhere around there!) you are eligible for other help, such as the warm homes scheme, which adds £140 to your account if you get tax credits. That comes up by the end of March so plenty of time to work it out and apply if applicable. It is applied for through your utility provider!
Do a full on check hun. I hope things are ok. Here for support whenever you need it! xx

Thank you Lilty. No I don't qualify, you've just confirmed that, but it was worth checking. I may refinance the car early to reduce the monthly outgoings, worth a try.
, plus we'll be getting the child benefit again - yayyy.

Sounds intriguing too - good luck with the plans for OH.
Yay to getting Child Benefit back too :j.
Accountant has suggested I don't bother slogging my guts out between now and year end as I might end up having to pay mine back for the year if I do  Bad deal for single parents on that one. Know that doesn't affect you, but the principle of it by individual and the cap amount I find wrong.
You're great at planning SS, so know you'll work things outBack on the DFW Wagon:

I find the entire benefit system to be very warped ladies... there to help people who do not help themselves and not those who really need the help.
Ali I really feel for you with the accountants advice. If I went back to work full time (which I ant to do eventually!) I would actually end up at least £4k a year worse off than I am working 3 days per week. Is it any wonder....
SS I know you will power through this, look at you already figuring out the best options. Keep going girlx
