Thank you Brogden and Lilty. That was just what I needed to hear. Everything you say makes sense I feel more confident. My teachers always said 'should have more confidence in her abilities' and I think that's always been true. I will try to fake it until I make it a bit more.
Think I am also a little tired as had lots of coursework and DD had a competition on Thursday so was busy week. Cc bill have come in and it's  time. We did go a bit Spendy at Christmas but on stuff we 'needed' by which I mean not just things that won't be used lots.
This weekend there is no homework, nothing to prepare for DD so will get things straight, relax, sort the finances.
Thanks you two and have a lovely Saturday.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Wise words as ever, from dearest Lilty
Take a deep breath supersaver. You are in - what sounds like - a lovely working environment, and as your new colleagues/managers get to know you and how competent you clearly are; so the work will flow.
We'll all know that day has landed when you are on here telling us how much work you have to complete in 'suchandsuch' a time frame
Hope you have a brilliant weekend - refreshed and renewed to tackle week 2 of the new job
You're doing grand! Have faith in you - we do!

Thank you Greying Pilgrim and Lovely Lilty.
I had a little warm feeling earlier knowing that you were looking out for me (and Brogney
I did a quick financial check before I went out and have managed to make the figures make sense. I am ebaying galore and took my £5 match more voucher to Moggisons earlier. Spent £50 but did a real stock up til payday. I also called in Debinhams as I had an £8 voucher and managed to get a couple of sale items to wear for new job at a good price. I need to lose a few pounds so have bought some cups soups for work and will be walking at lunchtime but will also call into the library a couple of times a week.
Thanks Lilty, I am going to be MSEing as well, getting those few pounds in here and ther really makes the difference and I will pop into Greyings thread again for me healthy tea options soon.
Am feeling so much more positive, not that I was feeling really bad before, just a wobble. (You all understand).

Signature updated. Credit cards overall down. But... Safety fund down and Overall owed is up, but considering the huge Xmas credit card bill it's actually not bad. We also had a £500 deposit to pay which will come back eventually, plus a car service, new glasses, clothes and presents for all. While the debt-free day has probably shifted (that's one to work out next month) I'm pleased it's not as bad as I thought and we should be back on track back come March. Thanks to all my MSE friends or providing the focus I need.
There are some tax changes ahead of us, but overall the future is rosy lee. xx
Right, got to go as Dd informs me a bird may have fallen down the chimney :eek:OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Hope you catch the birdie  Had one come down into an upstairs bedroom in the old victorian house - when I was working away, so came home to a very yucky bedroom and one dead bird
Saving grace was the bedroom door was shut.
Great you've sorted out the financials, just knowing exactly where you are takes any angst away.

Luckily no bird there. Think they were singing loudly outside.
Thought I'd try another list:
Finish YNAB
Finish chalkpainting kitchen chairs and table
Go by these rules (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual)

Phew for the bird! That would have been awful. They come into my flat all the time. We have an understanding now. I will open the window wide if they do not poo! :rotfl:
Rules look good and simple. I am sure you can follow them...
Hope you get YNAB set up the way you like it and can get excited. I am glad you haven't dented the safety fund/credit card too badly and can recover. March is 2 months awayxx
P.S Ali  eewwww you poor thing!!

Thanks Liltster. I feel that I should be disappointed to be over £10k again, but I know I'll be back on track again soon so don't feel bad at all. Hope that's a good thing.
and not a sign of going down the non-mse road again.
Sold a few things over the weekend on flEaBAY so feeling a bit flush. We are having the outlaws to dinner soon, so will use some of that cash to treat them to a nice wine.:):)
