  • I am sure I saw a thread that said MSE would be going off air at 11 am on Thursday night. Unless I was dreaming it.... spooky....

Anyways, I am definitely in need of a diet and a spring clean of my home. Need to get become Mrs Motivator and aim to have a clean sweep by the new year with Litly.

Isn't funny how things can change almost overnight. I am slightly lost at the moment, almost in suspense of disbelief. Noah, you are so right about the adrenaline and fight or flight.

Still its not over till the fat lady sings so I've got to get my fat @ss in gear and get motivated towards the debt neutral day this summer. Then start working on saving a big deposit in the next year.

All the meanwhile I need to get fit, get my studying done and get organised at home - declutter, declutter, declutter!!!

I'm so looking forward to this weekend so so so much - hope you all have a great one too. Hugs to all that need them.

  • I love your plan to finish 2014 on a real high after you've given yourself a chance to process all the changes that are happening.

This is moving in to the time of year when I throw all caution to the wind, only to spend the first quarter of next year making amends, but not this time. I am really looking forward to watching Mrs Motivator's moves ;).

  • Hi Whitefeather, a couple of people have posted that they almost wish Christmas wasn't happening because it really puts a sock in the debt busting and I know what they mean. However this year it is going to mark the end of something/start of something new for me so I'm kind of glad it's that time of year.

The hard thing is that I am already spending more money and planning to spend more money (gifts and evenings out - not being prudent!) and I won't get my new wage for ages yet so I've used the cc a few times. I've also got my car service booked in next month (£300+) but I am going to see if I can stretch that out another month - going to look at the service book later - torn between getting it out of the way before my new job starts and delaying it to put off paying for it. I'll have to think about that one, (because if it's an annual service then delaying would probably be better each year) and also look at the figures when November pay comes in.

Theres no way we are going to our old ways because with a bit of a stretch we could be debt neutral by approx next September. Then have savings by the following year. That would be fab (trying not to tempt fate here, as haven't even started new job, but it's lovely to think 'what if'). Then after that we could seriously have a think about buying or saving hard to buy a place of our own again.

It's lovely to think that could be a possibility and very motivating - you've got to have a dream :):)

I would not worry about the other stuff - enjoy December! You've had enough worries... just don't go mental, that has been my mistake in the past :p find the balance! But put off the service until the first salary if you can!

  • Wahey, I have caught up. SO many lovely posts. We have a brilliant MSE crowd around us don't we SS.

I am with you all they way on a scrub up for January. And everyone is right, it is the relief and comfort of having solid knowledge about your future that has done it... BUT it is AMAZING to see you napping an still sleeping. So happy for you.

I look forward to being shoulder to shoulder with you, from now until the new start, and from then until debt neutrality, until eventually we can live side by side by the sea ;) haha!!
