Me too! would love to know more - are you allowed to post a link?
Am a born worrier:o
Also Ditto everything that Ali-OK re self employment. If you let it it takes over every waking and non-waking minute of the day. If you are working from home it is so hard. We went through that and haven't really (if we are honest) got out of the habit 10 years on! But so exciting, as it is your very own and you are in control of its success.

Hi SSIK
Just watched this while I do more office filing/clearing and its brilliant. He uses some really great examples. Sad thing is we all know that what we should do, it's remembering always to do it!
I find I am much better at advising others and staying positive for them in front of them (e.g. parents), then falling apart when I am by myself. Then picking myself up with determination and self preservation kicking in. Then doing it all over again. Just need to find that magic way of staying in the positive. His 2 minute distraction idea I will definitely be trying:)
Hope all going well with preps for your new chapter! So excited for you.

Hi No1around
I know what you mean. We are so much harder on ourselves and stay strong for others.
I love the distraction technique and so far it is working. I'm just not thinking about stuff that could have been or may be (unless it's good stuff of course). Simple stuff but like you I know these things but need reminding.
Prepping for the next chapter soon. It's all so different at the moment.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

"Moist Lemon Cake
Heres one of our family favourites i tend to double up the amount and open freeze slices of the cake that way the teenager doesn't eat it all and i always have cake on hand for packed lunches last time I costed the recipe it was about 65p to make makes 8-10 slices
Ingredients
100g margarine
75g caster sugar
2 eggs
175g self-raising flour
1 jar lemon curd(smartprice/value is fine )
1 level teaspoon baking powder
Method
1. Pre heat the oven to 200 degrees centigrade. Grease a 2lb loaf tin
2. Place all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix together for about 5 minutes
3. Pour the cake mixture into the prepared tin level the top.
4. Bake for approximately 40 minutes until browned.
This cake gets moister the longer you leave it, if you can!!!
I have done a version using cocoa and marmalade as a chocolate orange cake too."
Apparently you can add sultanas and also mix icing sugar and lemon for top and icing sugar over.
Just been looking back over my first posts. Wow was that really a year ago. What a difference a year makes!
I'm now on my second (and hopefully last) new job and my shopping bill at Tesco was £53 yesterday - which I think is high, but I was spending almost double last year! I did move to Dalligas, but have not submitted any readings since starting so I've no idea what my balance is! With scotgas I read every month. I must look at moving supplier again soon as I see Ali is on the move again (I'm looking for gas only). 😄
Sadly my chalkpainting hasn't progressed, but that is going to be a summer job now, as my course finishes then - yes I'm finally finishing my degree! (Don't mention the student loan):rotfl:
Our CCs have gone down about £6k since last year. The car finance is still huge - well the value seems to decrease in line with my payments, but I may actually own a wing mirror or two right now.
DH is having an unexpected new start work-wise so our finances may stumble slightly now.... - we are investing in his own business! .......but we are able to take it in our stride this year - last year would have been a different story. Hopefully next year he will be as settled as I feel. He's feeling very positive.
I've reposted the lemon cake recipe from around the start. I'll be making home made lemon curd and cake soon, with sultanas I think. Hmm maybe that will be the title of my new thread, or maybe not.....
