The standard £150 paypal protection is the replacement for the old ebay protection and does not guarantee a full refund in cases of non receipt. Where the basic protection is given it means that the seller doe snot qualify for the full protection, so paypal will only refund if they can get funds from the seller to do so.
Yesterday seller supplied tracking details to paypal(which must be fake)ive just contacted paypal and they told me i would get a full refund as seller had the protection?? if this info is not correct and i only get what paypal can retreive what is the point of advertising this cover,i thought i was fully covered up tp £150??i usually only deal with sellers that have the paypal protection as i beleive my money is safe if worst comes to worse.

Maybe I'm missing something here , but why would anyone sell real vouchers for less then face value? ( ok i could see it happening if maybe you had an unwanted one for a present , but loads of them???? )

Maybe because they are stolen and anything was a profit. Then thought why not just cream a profit from unsuspecting people without stealing them.

Hopefully Paypal will be in time to reverse any paypal payments back to the buyers before it reaches the scammers bank account

This fraudster started selling these large amounts of vouchers on 29th june ist transaction being at 22:52,i filed my claim with paypal yesterdaywed 4th,so paypal should have froze his account .so seller would not have been able to transfer cash to his bank until at least monday2nd,it takes about 5 days to reach his account,so will paypal be able to stop the funds reaching his bank account even though they are in transit??

......a lot of them aren't vouchers, but gift cards..... there's no way of knowing if a gift card has 10p credit on it or £100.10.

Having said that, if it's not going to arrive anyway then what does it matter? :(

When you pay money out of your paypal account to your bank account it takes 5 working days so he probably wont profit from this particular scam. I unearthed a very clever ebay scam a couple of years ago, in this case lots of people lost their money. If anyone is interested I will post the story on here.

Thanks hopefully paypal will still have the money or be able to claim it back, when i submitted the claim with paypal yesterday seller immediately responded by giving them a unused recorded delivery number, maybe he thought paypal would unblock his account and he could receive his ill gotten gains.
