mmmm.
looked at upgrading EACH of my 3 Classic Vantage a/cs. Screen only wants to do ONE. The other 2 show - 'error'
Rang the 08453000000 and they said it would take 45 minutes !! to upgrade. £££££ in calls. And anyway, I was only allowed ONE Club a/c (thought it was 2 ??)
Now I need two direct debits fro somewhere.
(Santander Esaver account will not allow DDs apparently)0 -

You could 't upgrade all 3 because you can only have 1 sole Club Lloyds account.DEBT FREE!
Debt free by Xmas 2014: £3555.67/£4805.67 (73.99%)
Debt free by Xmas 2015: £1250/£1250 (100.00%)0 -

Q. If I am just Upgrading Classic Vantage > Club, how do I get two direct debits onto this account ??
I have just opened a Tesco Int Saver and propose to set up 2 x DDs with them for 0.01 to myself at another Bank. That IS still a DD isn't it?, ie it doesn't need to be to an institution like Gas etc0 -
Upgraded accounts to Club in branch yesterday and specifically queried the definition of 'different' DDs. The adviser consulted his manager who was adamant that these had to be from different organisations. A call to Telephone Banking has produced the same response. So if anyone is relying on two Tescobank DDs or similar...0

What has appeared earlier on this thread is evidence that suggests two different DD mandates are needed for the interest. I personally wouldn't risk having my 2 DDs from the same Tesco Internet Saver, but I don't know whether having a Tesco Internet Saver and a Tesco Instant Access Saver with a DD each would qualify, as it is two different accounts.forevergrey wrote: »specifically queried the definition of 'different' DDs. I would suggest it's possible that the bank manager and telephone employee wouldn't consider the likelihood of DDs from savings accounts, so they may not think it's possible to have two DDs from the same organisation anyway. Though they may be right, and I'm glad I don't have to risk having two DDs from Tesco.
Though interestingly, after some thought, I've realised that it is possible to have two DDs in a month from the same organisation, as my wife and I both have credit cards with the same company. Therefore are the Lloyds staff saying that if two credit card bills, from different accounts but the same company, were the only DDs then they wouldn't pay interest?0 -

In both branch and the call I specifically quoted the example of the Tesco Internet and Access savers and got the impression that they were aware of what some were hoping to do. I don't think I will risk it!0 -

I wouldn't risk it either, though it doesn't seem like a foolproof way of preventing people from "mis-using" the account. Sure, if this is correct they won't pay interest if the two DDs are from different Tesco accounts, but they won't stop a DD from Tesco and a DD from Newcastle BS!
Though as I said earlier, I have two DDs from two different John Lewis credit cards. It'd be a flaw in their system if they didn't count that as two qualifying DDs.0 -

They'll have to change their T&C's if they don't honour two from the same institution as they mention it nowhere. With all new products the CS staff are not fully briefed.

Yes, I've set up a Tesco DD for one of my two qualifying DD's, but I only have one Tesco account in my name, and I think the DD's from Lloyds have to be two different ones don't they?0
