13 months' payments are permissible if you time your account opening date and first Standing Order right. I just checked over the phone. I'll try and remember for next time, I was just too organised this!

Open a new Club account. Don't upgrade especially as you're one of the lucky ones with a fee waiver on your Platinum. It might make you set up a new Internet banking ID but it "should" merge it with your existing profile.

Many thanks. So additional added value account is allowed to coexist with Club?

The issue with a new account is that I have to move all the DDs.

If you already have a Silver/Gold/Plat + a vantage then you cannot do the switch to Club online. I had exactly the same issue so did it over the phone without any problem.

Just create a new Club Acccount and treat it as just another new account.

Keep your fee waiver Platinum one as your main current account and use it as normal reataining all of your existing DD's in there. You just need to create 2 new DD's in the Club account (see numerous posts above for simple ways to do that with £1 x 2) and fund it with a rolling £1500 Standing order in and out on the same day from your Platinum or Vantage account.

10 Minutes or so ... Job done! :)

My Tesco DD that I set up on Sunday now shows in my Club Lloyds. Superb service.

I setup 2 Tesco DD on Monday and they are now showing on the Lloyds account.

My Vantage was upgraded to Club instantly online as well.

Edit: Do I have to use the DD to pull funds from the account in April to trigger the interest or should they first be used in May?

    No It's a DD.

Another easy DD to set up and have control of is one to Paypal.

    Hi,

So It says the direct debit must be "PAID" every month and says it a few times. So will a paypal DD suffice

With my Halifax account I have a paypal DD (which has never had any money through it) and a charity DD which has been paid. I opened this on Mar 5th and have not yet had a bonus.

I understand Lloyds and Halifax are almost one in the same so do I need to move money to PP every month?

    Cheers

Hmmm...I just got a call from my Lloyds Branch Manager about the 5K deposited into my club account today. He asked me how long the funds would remain in the account. I replied "probably until I need them since the interest rate is very attractive" He then simply said OK. I then asked him why he was phoning and he said to offer me a savings account! He only just realized that the club account paid more than the savings account. Doh! He also seemingly didn't to see that I already have 3 Vantage accounts with Lloyds too. Hehe...quite funny. :D

It seems they get a flag when large sum is paid into a current account. ;p
