So, for those of us with 3 x Vantage accounts already, rolling around £k between the 3 a/cs, is the easiest way to get the Club Plus to do....

1.) Upgrade one account from Vantage to Club plus.
    2.) Cancel (how on system ?), the 3 x rolling £1k payments and set up 3 x £1.5k payments
3.) set up 2 standing orders for £1 FROM the new Club Plus (assume it is OK to send 2 x £1 to one of the other 3 a/cs for ease, or would these have to be to an external a/c ?

    What do you think ?

If you have the money, don't upgrade an account, just open a new one. The Club account isn't a Classic account (as far as I'm aware) and therefore doesn't count in the maximum of three Classic accounts

I rotate manually on the !st. Will now be £1.5k Vantage 1-2-3-Club-Vantage 1. Takes all of a minute.

I don't have a 'real' £1500 p/mth to pay in so, could someone advise if the following seems OK.

1.) Open new Club a/c in addition to 3 x Vantage
    (will fund £5k from Santander)
2.) Standing order for £1.5k from Santander to Club on say 1st
mthly and s/o for £1.5k from Club to Santander on 2nd mthly
3.) Direct debit x 2 x £1 from Club to Santander (ie to ME, not actually paying a Company (this IS? still a direct debit isn't it ?)

That'll be a Standng Order, not a Direct Debit.

That's a real £1.5k being paid in each month, so satisfies that part of the condition.

If it's a direct debit (that you set up by contacting Santander) then that's ok. You can set up direct debits on Santander e-Saver accounts (but it's a bit of a faff to do so).

A Standing Order (that you set up from Lloyds) does not count.

Currently on phone to Lloyds going through the long winded process of changing. They're insisting I have to listen to all the new banking spiel....yawn.

Being told Vantage has been withdrawn from sale as of midnight last night and letters will be out in next 6 weeks confirming changes to current Vantage accounts.

As I thought, IF you already have a Gold/Plat + a Vantage and try to switch to Club online it WILL upgrade the Gold/Plat account and not the vantage so you have to do it via phone or branch.

Also stated that the DD has to PAID each month to qualify akin Halifax. so ASSUME bi-monthly,Quaterly,Annual no good.

    No It's a DD.

Another easy DD to set up and have control of is one to Paypal.

The online upgrade isn't as straight forward as it seems. I have 6 Vantage and 1 Gold account already. When I apply to upgrade on Vantage number 6 all seems fine on the first page so i accept the T&C's.

Then it gets to the pre-contract info page which is all about my Gold account and trys to change that to a Club Gold Account which costs £17.95pm and is not what I want at all as currently that account is FREE.

Be careful you don't lose that Free Gold account. It's days are numbered!!

    "No it's a DD"

Is it then, or not ? I don't have any other DDs knocking about (they all earn cashback in 123), so ...
CAN I just set up 2 x £1 to come out of the new Club and these WILL ? satisfy ?
