That's not going to work for me, I have DDs coming out of my ears
I'm surprised that people such as Tesco have not issued new T&Cs yet saying they are withdrawing deposits by DD, and every time I change or add they send me another letter.0 -
Tesco probably can't believe their luck - who else would be using their savings accounts if not the hordes who deposit by DD?0
-
Or maybe they are thinking they are fed up with paying 3% for instant access cash and know the with the dire interest rates at the moment, not everyone will move.
They want people who they can offer the full relationship with, and requesting for large credit deposits and DDs will get less people looking for savings accounts.
For those of us who have been full relationship customers for 25+ years, this new account is deeply unattractive if you're used to free banking and frankly don't give a monkeys about the enhancements.
This thread has been really useful to start me thinking about what I want to do with my Lloyds accounts.0 -
What don't you like about the account? It's much along the same lines as a Vantage account, just it pays better interest and the Monthly Saver that comes with it has a pretty good rate too. Avoiding the charge is easy enough. If you don't fancy any of the mags etc, just ignore them, they aren't mandatory.
I would gladly take half a dozen of these Club accounts, if only I was allowed.0 -

I don't quite understand what you mean. If you don't give a monkeys about the enhancements then just pretend the account doesn't exist and use a Classic account. If you do give a monkeys about them then apply for this account. Personally I'm going to do the later but it's not going to be my main account. If they want to send me free Vue tickets or magazines then I'm not going to stop them either.0 -
It looks like the Lloyds Club account only requires two direct debits to be set up, rather than actually being paid each month (unlike Halifax Reward accounts), which means I can definitely have at least one of those for £5000. £4000 will be going into TSB Plus accounts, which doesn't leave me with much to spare. I'll have to take money out of my ISA to get at least £3000 in Vantage until July, but after that I have no idea. Can you have two Lloyds Club accounts? If so I might move around some direct debits to open a second one of those.0

Looking at "hoops", I see two direct debits need to be paid out each month.

This is preferable in any case since DDs that do not make any payments in 13 months might automatically get cancelled.0 -
All done, upgrade online this morning; very straightforward, though the T&C links are wrong (they bring up the Gold a/c etc).0
