Oh my dear God in heaven would you just get over it woman! Accept it and move on!! If you don't opt out it is a form of permission and the check will be done!! Accept it whether you like it or not!!

If you don't want the child to be checked to make sure they are healthy, then inform the school, God help the child, and shame on you.

I still fail to see how not opting out is giving permission? If they want my child checked, they need to ask my permission. If I want my child checked, I will seek out the appropriate service. And the service will be provided by someone who asks for consent, and not someone who doesn't bother.

And God help any healthcare 'professional' that crosses that boundary.

Sounds like we are going around in circles. I am only refuting your assertion that schools should be asking for consent for weight and height checks which clearly they do not.

Yes going round in circles! Or to be exact, it is the passing on of the information that is obtained during the check - not the actual check itself.

Im a reception teacher and we have had height and weight checks last month and hearing and sight checks next month. I know there was a health screening questionnaire sent out when the chn first started in september which had a box to tick if the parents did NOT want their chn to be seen by the nurse. They tend not to send out the dates as parents permission is obtained at earlier dates but will send out details of any concerns they have. Check with your school if you are concerned chances are they obtained your permission at some point there is often alot of paperwork in chns first year at school. :)
