Evening All
Been skirting around these Boards for a few years but never really got posting.
My Light Bulb moment came in February this year. I guess this was because I am getting to the age where I am thinking about the future. One which looks bleak with the amount of Debt I have. The Banks were throwing Credit Cards and Loans at me ( yes I know, it was me that took them not the Bank).
I got myself into these problems and determined to get myself out. Read many a Diary on here and it has filled me with encouragement...so here goes, lets get this on the Road.

Thanks very much indeed. I had made a good start by paying off one loan over the past two years
Made a small payment off one Credit Card yesterday which gave me a little pat on the back. Thursday already, the weeks go quick.

Well here we are and another weekend draws to close. Went to the Bank yesterday and paid £50 off Credit card No3 . A good feeling as I have pushed through the £1000 barrier that I have paid off. Also reduced the Credit limit to ensure I do not spend again on that card!
Every Sunday I go through my excel Budget sheet. It shows all my debts and automatically updates as I reduce my balance on each card.
Hope you had a good wknd and paid a few pennies off your debts.(Debt Jan 2014 LBM £34,000) Current 2016 "Problems" as follows:

Monday Hello beanielou :hello:
Hope everybody has managed to guide themselves through Monday! Rather chilly this morning, although warmed up in London ( a bit).
Sitting on the train heading for the Office gives a chance to think of just about everything and everybody. As the Train picks up its passengers at the Stations, I wonder what everybody does for a living and if they have debts. A modest Gent sits down next to me with a creased copy of the Mail and a sharp suit. Perhaps he has a good salary, perhaps he has debts and knows my money Journey that I have started-who knows...
I had £30 in my pocket that I wanted to pay into the bank to reduce one of my Credit Cards. I waited patiently until lunch before heading down the bank. As I entered,I realised I had left my Credit Card at home ( took it out my wallet at wknd so would not spend on it). Moral of the story here, no card -no spend, no card no payment! Oh-well, I will pay it in tomorrow to get my first " good feeling" of the week of paying a small contribution of my debt off.
I saw this guy talking to himself on the Train on the journey back and I was like, "Who is he talking to?" then I thought "Who am I talking to?"(Debt Jan 2014 LBM £34,000) Current 2016 "Problems" as follows:

If you are looking for support and motivation in life on your Debt free Journey do not, I repeat, DO NOT watch the Film 7 Pounds with Will Smith! I watched it yesterday, wish I had not.
On another note I paid off a further £35 pounds off Credit card 3. Nearly at £3,000 down from [STRIKE]£4,100[/STRIKE]. Good stuff. :j
Spent a few good hrs on here last evening. Looked at many other boards including " Mavis" who spends many a day searching supermarket bargains and " Johnn34" who is debating what to do with his pension.
