abandoned skip

hi all not sure if this is the correct section

my next door neighbour moved out about 6 weeks ago, the landlord has been in and our for about 3weeks after that and have had a few skips.

the last skip however has been there for about 4 weeks, its overflowing and put close to my partners car.

now the wind has picked up it has blown some rubbish including a door onto my drive way (thankfully the car was not there), there is nothing blocking my drive way from there's I have not seen the landlord for about 3 weeks maybe a bit more but I want this skip moved how can I get it removed?

there is no company name or number on the skip so cant call them.

I have called the council but they don't have the facilities to remove it.

thanks

    Hi sithmaster

It sounds like the skip isn't on the highway, so the council will not get involved.

Assuming the skip was hired by the landlord of the property, it's the landlord you need to contact. The skip company will be waiting for the landlord's instruction to take the skip away.

Even if you manage to contact the skip company, I'm not sure they will remove it at your request - as you are not the customer that is paying for it.

If you know who the landlord is, put something in writing to them stating that the skip is full and is unsecured and that following a near miss you are concerned that items blowing out of it will damage your property or cause uyou injury. AS k that the LL arranges to either remove or cover it to stop rubbish blowing out.

Keep a copy of the letter.

It puts him or her on notice that their skip is potentially causing problems and would improve your changes of claiming against them if there was later any damage.

Do what Bagpuss said, if it is on private land.

How do you know the skip is abandoned? 4 weeks isn't that long

I have a 6 yard skip at the back of my house right now , it`s been there since the 7th and will be there till at least Monday 31st....

Also , dont just sit there waiting for damage to your car to occur , be proactive , do what you can to minimise risk to your property , because a civil case against anyone can take money and time
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

If it's full enough for doors to be blowing out of it, surely it needs emptying at least?

Phone them up and order it away. Say it's full now and you've finished with it. They pay when they drop it off. But don't tell anybody it's you. ;):D

I've had a 6 skip outside my other house since December. This one now is about 1/2 full. However I did order one away Christmas week so my neighbours (who are great) didn't have it outside over the holiday period.
