I believe they boast to have the best computer systems etc but it's laughable really, the likes of EDF and Scottish Power generate a bill very time a meter reading is entered online, if EE's systems are so good then why can't they???
I've lost count of the amount of times I've heard 'We're a new company and we're having some teething problems'; ten years or so back I switched my electricity to Zest4, who, like EE were a brand new company on the market. From day one the customer service was excellent and accurate bills were produced on a regular basis; the only reason they are no longer around is that they were forced out of the market by the big 6 when wholesale prices kept increasing0 -

I doubt a rep on the phone would have access to the CV as it is something that is measured twice daily in your particular area and averaged over the billing period so not readily available at the push of a button. I download the figures and work it out for the billing period and come within 0.05 of the actual billed CV figure. I have only had a difference once and the energy company just came out with a stock answer as to what the CV was and not how the billed figure was calculated, basically blanking the query. As it was only a couple of pounds over my calculation (and on a relation's bill) we could not be bothered to pursue it.0 -
I've set up 2 spreadsheets for my gas and electric so I only need to put in the latest readings and it tells me exactly what my bill is.
I obtained some details from the billing department which I am using for the gas conversion.
There is no way I am going to rely on them getting my bill correct so will be ready to challenge them (assuming I eventually get a bill).0 -
Awful.
I missed my first dd of £ 112 which they contacted me about and I said could pay later in month. I totally forgot but my next dd went out fine. The next day we had the bailiffs on the door with letter saying we had seven days to pay or they would be coming back!
I spoke to them they apologised for the mix up.....it shouldn't have gone to baliffs I should have received a reminder letter and phone call.
Yeah thanks my oh have me a load of grief as he was convinced it was my fault. A few days later received a letter from ee stating if I didn't pay the would contact external debt collectors. I'm still waiting for my compensation for undue stress!
Left now and still nothing!
Avoid!0 -
Their administration is appalling. It's about time the regulator got involved with this shower, their licence should be reviewed!!!
All five of us that switched to EE last April are now leaving, I've done account calculations and so far they all look as though they will be in debit at the time of the switch. It will be in EE's favour to produce a final bill and collect the outstanding amounts.
Would never go near this incompetent lot again!0 -
I just found this on the OFGEM website but as it's Extra Energy's own figures I would be naturally sceptical:
http://www.extraenergy.com/sites/default/files/Customer%20complaints%20v2.pdf
The fact that OFGEM themselves haven't produced any complaints data for Extra Energy is to be expected.
No mileage in going after the minnows when they can get more column inches in the newspapers when they go for the big fish in the pond!0 -
Am STILL waiting for my final bill over 8 weeks later. EE lie to you and promise things that don't happen. Steer clear of them. Will NOT be taking Martin Lewis's advice again as he clearly does not investigate the companies first. EE owe me money and it seems impossible to get it back. Am furious. Worst advice ever was to try EE0
