  • I signed up 6 months ago, first three months there were no problems.First bill, £30 credit.
then I got an e-mail saying they were increasing the Direct Debit (to cover the winter months)
My D.D. went from £65 per month to £134 per month.A rip-off.complaints got nowhere.
I have now switched away from this company and am now fighting to get my overpayment of over£500
    returned. No luck so far.

[Even if you are joining EE through the winter months, your direct debit may be set at only 25% higher (than your standard monthly amount) to cover the extra usage until spring, when it will return to a recommended direct debit amount. Otherwise EE review the DD 6 monthly - which is the same interval they provide statements to their monthly DD customers]
  • Beware these people. I signed up for two supplies with them, for two small businesses. Their prices were great, and the switching process went smoothly. What they didn't tell me, was that the contracts would 'auto renew' the following year, but 90 days! before the current contract expired. If you miss that deadline, (which I did) then you cannot get out of it, and they bang up the rates to a very uncompetetive level. This was not explained at all when I signed up, though I expect it's buried somewhere in the contract. There is no doubt that is very deliberate. The get you signed up initially with very competetive prices, then con you with this 90 day renewal so that you're tied in for another 12 months at high prices to get some of their money back. It is blatant mis-selling. I've been complaining to them for months and get no response. I'm considering going to the birmingham offices to stage a protest and get the press there too.

    Very dodgy business practice. AVOID.

That's pretty standard for all BUSINESS energy suppliers. Still, at least you got yourself a good price :)

As for not being told, well you presumably agreed to the terms & conditions? So re-read term 11.1 ;)

Left EE 21/9/15, correct (3rd attempt) final bill 25/3/16, still waiting for refund.
Left Zog 17/3/16 correct final bill 31/3/16, refund in bank 1/4/16

    Anyone spot the difference ?

Just a guess but I think Zog probably understood from the start that they really couldn't afford to base the company's reputation, website and billing systems on something they had made at home for nothing using a small aubergine! :D

I referred a complaint about EE to Ombudsman Services-Energy in August 2015. To date all they ask for is documents that do not exist and no matter how many times I tell them they still ask.

I am sure EE and OS-E are one and the same, surely your couldn't have two totally incompetent organisations, on the other hand we do appear to have.

A case of blind leading the blind I think.

Got my 3rd final bill today. The account balance is correct and they state they will pay it into my account on 4th April. The final balance is correct but the bill makes no sense. It looks like they have manually randomly added and removed payments until the number at the bottom is correct.
4th April has been and gone - still no sign of my 42p.

I had an e-mail yesterday. More corporate !!!!!!!! me thinks :o
