I've been with these people for about a year and now want to change. I have e mailed them 4 times and waited over an hour on the phone during 4 attempts. Now my rate has gone up and I can't get in touch with them

Hi. If you are talking about switching suppliers then there is no need to contact your existing supplier. Choose your new supplier and it will manage all aspects of the switch. Your new supplier will ask for meter readings. These will be passed onto your existing supplier who will produce a final bill.

Meter read submitted to Eon & EE. Leaves my account 43p in credit.

Why leave any money with them at all - it could be ages before you get your 43p back...!

I arranged my transfer to (hopefully) leave me owing them a pound or two. It doesn't really give them any greater incentive to produce the final bill but makes me feel a lot better!
  • Extra energy offer good tariffs but their customer service is terrible. BE AWARE if you are renting and have to move property they will charge you £25 per service for this even if you want the service at the new property. This is because they end your contract with them and start a new one. The extra £50 for doing this basically makes their charges expensive. I would score them 7 for charges but 1 for customer care. 2 weeks of trying to get through to them. 10 minutes at a time. I tried all different times in the day and different days.

EE have just sent me a nasty letter saying that as my DD did not go through they are charging me 12 quid. I stopped their DD as it was over twice what it should have been. They also say the next reminder will cost me 17.50!

I am on hold as of now.

What do you do with these sharks?
