If you don't want the telly, you can negotiate £126 for 12 months' Value line rental prepaid, and half price for phone/BB, so £4.25 a month instead of £8.50 for evening/weekend calls and broadband, for 12 months' contract.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

So I got the letter that states they are putting my package up from £7.50 pm to £8.50 pm but that it will now include tv. (I just renewed my value line rental so that's already paid upfront)
So I thought, might as well get me a free youview box if they're gonna charge me for it anyway.
Went online to get it, going through top cashback got £60.60 on the package upgrade. and I am getting the new £8.50 package for £6 for the first 6 months & free movies for 3 months.
Seems like a pretty good deal to me! £1.50 less per month, free youview box, free movies for 3 months and £60.60 in my pocket0 -
Yeah but it's a 24 month contract which hurts! (For previous essentials users).0

I'm yet to receive their price increase letter/email, but I already emailed them 2 days ago that I want to cancel due to a much better deal from Sky (inc. cashback).
TT called today, and I got a much better deal: 12 month contract (I still had 14 months of the old contract left) starting tomorrow, fibreoptic broadband Plus, new router (just launched by TT), international boost and line rental for £26.75 per month.
Used to pay £46 for this.
BTW, not interested in their TV at all."Retail is for suckers"

we've got 3 months left on a phone broadband and tv package.
does this mean that we can now move to another company with no penalty? when we looked at it before they wanted to charge us £200 for the TV box because we were leaving before the end of the contract.
Is this no longer the case please?0 -
My understanding is that you can cancel your contract penalty free, as per TT T&Cs (16.1), and not have to pay for the TV box. Apparently TT will show a £200 charge on your bill, and a £200 waiver.
Probably best to talk to their cancelations/retentions department to confirm, or send them an email and they will call you back. You don't have to wait for their price increase letter, as per TT T&Cs their website notification counts as well. Just tell them you don't accept their price increase and you're leaving.
PS
I was 100% certain to move to Sky yesterday, but now I'm chuffed with my new TT 12-month deal (I still had 14 months to go). The TT bloke I spoke to asked me what I like about the Sky deal, so I told him about the better router, 12 month contract, £25 M&S voucher and £100 Quidco cashback. So then he offered to better Sky's deal.
A friend of mine also called them today, and they almost halved his bill as well."Retail is for suckers"

The time to act is now.
Another friend of mine called TT this morning. He was on a very good fibre + TV deal already, and had 16 months to the end of his contract.
In the end, after 5 minutes of discussions with TT retentions, TT have offered him a new 12 month contract (so 4 months less than his existing contract) plus a £50 credit to his account (there were no better deals that would better his existing deal). He is now paying £23 per month for TT fibre, talk international and TV, and only 12 month contract. Result!"Retail is for suckers"

I shall have to give that a try - what number did you contact them on.
I have 3 months of my £126 up front deal @ £2.50 a month left. I don't want telly but wouldn't mind fiber.0 -
Does this price rise affect TT business as well ?0
