Can you quote or scan the exact phrase please?

Regards enforcement overseas, there are several methods (EU/commonwealth etc) and/with conventions and reciprocal agreements allowing the enforcement of UK judgements by foreign courts in a range of countries. Whether Erudio would ever bother is another matter.

Well, if you are worried about them having permission to report the loans to the CRAs then they already have that for the 1997 one anyway.

You seem sure that the DPA provisions don't apply to the pre-98 loans, in the same way as they do for the later loans - can I ask why that is?

i dont have it to hand unfortunately right now but its on the back page of the deferment form, and concerns the weight of what will befall someone who may fall into default. I personally think they have copied and pasted the usual garb about CRAs they have done for other loans they handle, but i assume, if we sign the form, we agree to all that. It doesnt say they will become liable for the debt of a deafulter, just that having a loan in default can affect others associated with you (or something like that). I dont know whether that is the same as when SLC reported defaulters or not, but i know it to be true for others who have defaulted. But will BIS saying a student loan does not affect anyone else, there does seem to be a rather glaring discrepancy because this could.

Looking a typical scan of page 5/6 of the forms with the FPN on CRAs, and I can't see anything like that?

However, it is true that if you have a financial link with someone else then adverse information on your report can affect some types of credit application. That is the point of a financial link on your reports. It's annoying but legitimate.

A student loan itself can't create the link as it is not a joint financial product, but if a link is there created from another source it may have effect.

in fact, to me, now, it reads like that will be the case whether one defaults or not, just through having our loan info given to CRAs.

Thought I was either missing something, or looking at an out of date form.

Well that is true. If you share a financial link with people like that it can affect them.

It says "can/may". It doesn't say will.
