Thanks Lantanna. I was a bit confused as I read somewhere that the goalposts changed on loans taken in 1998 onwards. I thought as two of my loans (1998 - 2nd year of study and 1999 - 3rd year) were from 1998/9 respectively this might apply to these...meh...0

The last time I spoke to Eurodio the guy on the phone actually told me you do realise these loans will be wiped off in 2025! I’m dreading the threshold coming out next month as I’m fairly certain I’ll just be over it. They ll just get me in the end..0

Thanks again for the replies and clarification. It's been over two weeks since I sent the first set of emails and I have received nothing, a reply or any paper post, so it's complaint time.I take it the following link/email is the route to go, correct, and will get their attention? Many thanks,Tom.

Would anyone be able to tell me when my loans are due to be written off? I started Uni in Sept 97 and Graduated in July 2000. Took one loan out for each year - so Sept/Oct 97, 98 and 99. I have asked SLC and Thesis, AND Erudio and none have responded (it's been months since the request).
Thanks

Go through the complaints process too if you want (they'll probably just say they did send it out, so it must've got lost in the post).
I've never had much issue deferring in previous years, but it sounds like Erudio might be being particularly difficult this year. Always sent my deferment application by post, and they've always accepted it without requesting bank statements (which I'm really not comfortable with providing them with).
Posted mine with just over a month until my deferment expires, sent by 1st class signed for. According to the tracking, it's taken Erudio nearly a week to collect from their PO Box, which is bit concerning. Further evidence that they are massively understaffed.1 -
Sod's law.I was all set to start the process with Erudio but I go to check the post this morning and low and behold my deferment forms are in there. Two letters, Erudio and SLC, dated 19th and 16th June respectively, a month for each to reach me here in Italy.Tom.0

I can't possibly read through all 655 pages, but I'm sure I read this post a few years ago, and like a lot of folk panicked.
Anyway, just to say; since then, I deferred every year as normal (filling out the form), and no issues whatsoever.
Received a letter from them November 2020, and assumed it was my deferment forms - was due in December, so expecting it.
Was shocked when I opened it to read that both my loans 1994/1995 had been cancelled. 🙂
I didn't believe it, so logged onto my account, and sure enough both loans had been cancelled due to age - unsure if it was mines, or theirs, but either way I was happy. 🤣
I was sure I had read, on these forums somewhere, that "mortgage style" loans in Scotland didn't expire for 30 years??
Either way, both of mine have been written off and never appeared on my credit file.
Hope this helps some of you.0 -
Nice, happy for you.Tom.1

Hi
Could I clarify, if I exceed the threshold and start paying back the loans I have (1997,1998,1999) what happens at the 25 year mark - do I continue paying back as I started or do they get wiped then?
thanks0
