However, what is going on with the loan? If Erudio come back to me and say they do not uphold the complaint will I have to pay the two or three months of loan repayments from the 14th July or will the repayment schedule begin from their refusal?

Given that you met the criteria under the loan agreement to defer, I would use the court to reclaim any arrears that Erudio have added to your account?

Why should you be left out of pocket by someones elses incompetence or dishonesty?

  • Been away a while. Sorry to see the same old issues again.
I did my bit to help re the DAF's back at the start of the year.
Maybe people might need my help again? :)

A year on from a battle to get defferment I'm getting a strong sense of deja vu!

Quick recap, I'm self employed and have been for many years. Under SLC it was easy, just sent a copy of my tax calculation (SA302) and they accepted my income as total revenues less allowable losses. Of course Erudio wouldn't accept that and I ended up going to the ombudsman before Erudio would finally accept it and I also got compensation from them.

Fast forward to this year and I recieved the new defferment form. Sent it back with SA302 from HMRC. Few weeks later I recieved a letter saying I had not provided any evidence and needed to send my SA302. Sent the SA302 again, along with the relevant information from HMRC indicating it was the correct evidence - when you print the SA302 online it doesn't print the form number.

Now I've recieved another letter. This one says again they have not recieved sufficient evidence but now specifies they want one of:

Wage slips (don't have these as self employed)

Employment contract (don't have this as self employed)

P11 form from temping agency (don't have this as I have never used a temping agency).

I don't really believe anyone can be this incompetent so I can only assume they are hoping to trick people into paying when they are entitled to deferrment.

Feel another complaint to the ombudsman might be needed.

I too have received my annual statement from Erudio and in their FAQ's supplied alongside, this caught my eye:

Can I defer paying my loan?
You can apply to defer repaying your loan unless we have notified you that your loan is repayable in full or the term of your loan has expired. (my italics).
    What does this mean?

Why am I instantly suspicious about this wording? Not that I got any useful info/FAQs with last years "statement" but looking at someone else's, that wording is new.

No annual statement for me today, in any size of print :rotfl:
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...
  • I'm completely fuming with the toothless FOS who are now, after two months, saying the compensation of £100 I received (without their help I might add) means that I have been duly compensated.

Despite this being a different complaint that I took to the FOS about the age I was made to wait to get anything in writing about the rejection of a settlement letter ...!

So over two months the FOS have managed to get Erudio to write a letter and promised to provide me with a statement. Call me crazy but that doesn't seem worth going to the FOS for. The only difference is that they've stopped me having to call Erudio for two months to chase them for stuff.

They couldn't find any record of the mystery advanced payment I was told was on my account (despite being told on the phone that this was there and they didn't know why which is startlingly similar to the mystery arrears on my account that they "wiped" when they should never have existed in the first place).

So no settlement, no point deferring only to go through the deferment hassles again, looks like these filthy bar stewards will be getting a profit on my account.
  • Why did you delete your old posts Anthony? A lot of folks here where very interested in the "help" you were offering.

I see from you last few new posts on other discussions you are currently writing a book. Is your interest to help us fight Erudio or to gather material for your book?

It's all a bit dodgy imho. Vanished after the court case. Did this court case actually exist?

Also the post is headed with "Still going on?", which made me laugh a bit as why would it have stopped? Nothing has changed. Especially as that alleged case got settled on the hush hush.
  • I have spoken to Anthony on more than one occasion & found him nothing but helpful & genuinely interested in the Erudio situation, so I don't think there is anything dodgy about him. Just my opinion.

It is a shame that he deleted his very useful posts though - they were very informative.

Fair enough. Maybe dodgy is not the correct term. I just find it suspicious that he deleted all his posts after the court case and then vanished for 6 months before coming back and saying "still going on?" - as if it would have been magically sorted after the case which if it did happen, got settled behind closed doors.

Just bored of this whole erudio mess.

Well said, and dont forget, he isnt obliged to stick around and offer us his advice. However, the quick deletion of posts was rather surprising, so maybe an explanation would help get things back on track and restore some trust in the community.
And if it does by chance help him advance his own writing/research, then i for one am glad to help, it seems like a good enough cause to me. It would be a win win, which in my books is a good result!
