Had a quick look over their NEW DAF form advice:
What has changed since Erudio Student Loans took over my loan?
The terms and conditions have not changed and the legal requirements to successfully apply for deferment remain the same as in previous years. Some of the sections of the Erudio Student Loans application form require you to provide more detail, so that a ‘better assessment of eligibility’ for deferment can be made. Once your application has been completed we will inform you of the outcome and let you know if any further information is required.
So many lies, half truths and utter sh**e in this one small paragraph.
Correct Erudio: Terms and conditions HAVE not changed because you ONLY have the same RIGHTS as the Original Creditor. The deferment process however has been made unbelievably difficult by a Debt Collection Agency out to make MONEY.
!!!!!! does a ‘better assessment of eligibility’ even f**king mean? Also ‘MORE detail’ of income or the colour of my front door is not needed in order to defer.
‘Inform you of the outcome’ Am I on f**king trial here?
I humbly suggest that no one uses the new DAF on a point of principle. It will cost them a fortune in administration0 -

Compare that to SLC's 2 pages of guidance on their DAF (which would fit onto a single page if it was condensed like Erudio's new guide):
http://www.ccscollect.co.uk/docs/SLC/20130901%20-%20Deferment%20form%2009-13%20%28CCS%20Style%29.pdf
Not only that, but the SLC's guidance can be summed up in one sentence, at the top of the last page:
"Deferment will only be approved if you can confirm that your gross income is not more than £x,xxx per month".
That's it. Everything else is about completing the DAF, which isn't a requirement in law, so completely optional. So it takes Erudio 20 pages to say one sentence!!0 -
They're at it again!!
I'm in the 'lucky' position of having split loans, I filled in my SLC DAF and posted it Saturday just gone. Today I've had a letter from Erudio telling me my deferment is due to expire and that I will start paying the day after it's expiry. (HA!!) In the kind of blunt language that makes you think you have no choice but pay.
It also mentions I don't have a direct debit set up which is just a lie; there is, and always has been, one (they stole from it)!! I assume they're saying this for future reference to make it look like my contract has been breached and that the loan doesn't have to be written off when I reach 50 in 5 years, in a similar way to how my statement looks like I was in arrears when I got my bank to refund a wrongly taken payment, rather than it looking like an error on Erudio's part!! I won't be calling them.
They go on to say a deferment form will be sent, why not send one in the same letter?!! !!!!!!! Still some how inferring that being in deferment is only for liars, cheats and wasters, or am I being to sensitive about them now?
The question is do I email them and tell them, in proper language with all my details and a virtual DNA sample, to wind their necks in and that my deferment is being dealt with by SLC or wait until I hear from SLC and send them copies of my deferment notice? Hopefully SLC will defer me in time, but you can bet that Erudio will take at least one payment anyway, and it'll some how end up being my fault that they don't understand what's they're meant to do!
They certainly are experts in the 'psychology of debt', again any one who hadn't kept up with things online would just be confused, scared and probably start paying.
We shouldn't have to be going through this! It's had the wonderful effect of me telling any kid I meet not to go to Uni!0 -
When is the deferment due to end?Still rolling rolling rolling......

14th April. It should be fine, but..... well you know.0

I know someone who had the same letter from Erudio and panicked and called them up, only to find out that it was OK and just an standard letter and they were expecting SLC to deal with it. SLC did it OK and confirmed deferment and theyve not heard a peep out of Erudio for months.
I still dont trust them but seems they do some ok.Still rolling rolling rolling......<

It will be ok, I know this on a deeper level, SLC are dealing with it. Erudio are just so expert at being a pain in the ar*e. I may email..... when I don't want to write entirely with expletives!0

I have loans of about £4000. I know I should pay them but my earnings have never reached the threshold.
I am now 60 and qualify for them to be written off. I have been in touch with Erudio, and they agree I meet the criteria over the phone, they say the computer shows the loan as written off.
But my problem is getting conformation in writing.
I have spoken to them on four occasions and have been told a letter is already in the post. They say they can't confirm it by email but no letter has arrived.
Should I be worried ?
I dunno...... (sigh)“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
