Brilliant Anna, they really have got the new year off to a good start!!! Lets see how they respond, or if they go over the 'allocated funds'. I wonder if they will answer why we werent asked to settle our accounts first before selling them to Erudio, especially as deferred accounts were deemed by BIS to be the dead ducks in the portfolio and why the whole package was sold for such a low price. I also wonder if they will answer if the deal was actually for £160 million, or if that 'aggregate consideration' (as Arrow Global refers to it), is another term for some kind of financial trickery and a pretty blatant hoodwinking of the taxpayer (who BIS seem to put at the heart of all decisions, or so they say). Lets wait and see...

Has anyone here obtained their credit file and found a search on it by Erudio?

I don't think it is fair for them to do that without consent.

Also, I know a few people have had deferment granted without using the form and many have used the form but crossed out the FPN, but has anyone managed to get confirmation that the FPN will not apply?

    Thanks

They did some kind of admin search on mine in may. ICO said they wanted copies of my credit report to deal with any abuse of it by Erudio!

Personally I don't think erudio will be marking any files. It's opens up a mis selling argument and I am sure Arrow Global don't want the kind of PPI scandal blowing up around them and tarnishing their good name...

Just had my letter from Erudio responding to my complaint to the FOS. To recap I was complaining about the following:

    - Erudio delaying the deferment process so the account was pushed into arrears.
    - Taking a direct debit payment from my bank account during the deferment process.

Erudio have upheld my complaint and admitted they failed to defer my loan within the necessary period. They also admitted to taking the DD due to their 'technical error' which resulted in my account going into arrears. They have confirmed that they have removed the arrears and my account is up to date. I have just checked my bank account and it would seem that they have also cancelled the DD - I haven't cancelled it!

I will check my credit file at some point to see if there is a search by them and report back :)
  • My apologies for not dropping by but had a death in the family over christmas so Erudio have taken a back seat for a couple of weeks. Nice to read everyones posts and how many are still sticking to their guns.
Other than the odd email from them saying I must use their form, I have heard nothing re my complaint and will now be joining many of you in 'arrears' oh joy! Still also waiting on FOS who said they will get back to me within 4 weeks.

Keep up the fight everyone BR

Thanks for the link Fermi! http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/e...moved-out.html

'Erudio is a commercial business that took over from the old Student Loans Company, and the takeover has not been without hiccups. The company is strange.
One director is another limited company that acts as an officer of a remarkable 1,349 businesses. The only human director is Mark Filer, who is an officer of 450 companies.
This may explain why he has not had time to file accounts due last September. This is an offence, and a couple of days from now Companies House will issue an official proposal to strike off Erudio.
What would happen to outstanding student loans then is not clear, but the company’s credit licence from the Financial Conduct Authority would certainly disappear.'

That would make it a VERY good start to 2015 :)

Although if they lose their license will they just send around some big blokes to break our kneecaps and rearrange our faces?!?

Also if they keep giving £50 to everyone they have p*ssed off they will be bankrupt soon :)

Unless I'm looking at the wrong record, I don't see anything of the sort on companies house though.....

  • If they lose the license I suspect the loans will just be sneakily transferred in group to another one of the consortium's shell companies.

If you have the money to set up many LTD companies you can get away with a hell of a lot unfortunately.

Oh well... Anything that makes Erudio and all connected with it look bad/unprofessional/not fit for purpose is a win for me.

According to here, there was a "GAZ1 First notification of strike-off action in London Gazette (Section 652)", 3 days ago:

    http://companycheck.co.uk/company/08605918/ERUDIO-STUDENT-LOANS-LIMITED/companies-house-docs

Although the record on Companies House says the next accounts are due 30/09/15:

    http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk//compdetails

I think they were exempt from submitting accounts in December last year, then changed their accounting date to September, so it's the accounts due 30/09/14 that haven't been filed?
