Same here chiefdave, I know I made some payments years ago, but no longer have the statements.

I've decided to make a Subject Access Request, costs £10, but you get ALL personal and financial info they hold about you, so I think it's worth it.

There's a good template SAR letter here:

Agreed - definitely worth it. I made a SAR and got all my info too. Might need it in future......

Sorry to be a bit thick - do I just make 1 SAR to Erudio on the assumption that they will now have all the information that the SLC used to hold about my loans, or do I have to make 1 to Erudio & a second SAR to the SLC?

Will the £10 cover every single bit of info they hold, including copies of the original loan agreements?

Thanks in advance.
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

Hi,
I'm new to this site, but stumbled across it while searching for information about Erudio. I have loans taken out in the 90s, and to be honest, I deferred without much problem back in May. However, I've been asking Erudio since for a copy of my original credit agreement. No joy. They have acknowledged I asked for it, but never send it and don't seem to reply to emails at their customer services address.
I rang them tonight (first time in ages) and was politely told that a copy of my original credit agreement would be in the post in the next few days.
While on the phone, I queried the direct debit situation. I have a letter from Erudio that says I don't have to have an active Direct Debit in place while deferred. So I went ahead and cancelled it once I was deferred. But, having read this forum of late, I see there is confusion on this matter. The guy tonight told me, in no uncertain terms, I must have an active Direct Debit and other than say 'I see your point', couldn't help me and just said I should have one.
I'm confused. Advice anyone? Cheers.

Not much real advice I'm afraid, other than don't believe a word you are told on the phone. That sounds flippant, but their story changes every few minutes....
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

I know.I've defaulted, yet my cc has.just upped my limit. I've got one complaint with the fca and one with erudite. The second is also.with my mp.who.is labour so will be wanting to make an impression. I have asked for another day as my circumstances have changed. I will be sending a letter.from work in and not the payslips as my payslips show varying pay. They calculated the last wrong. So no doubt will do it again.

I read the FCA/CSA rules to say that collection activity must stop during the complaint, which they are complying with since they aren't phoning me any more & have never been able to correspond well. But I can't see anywhere where it says that the debt itself stops running - which is what I'm worried about. If I wait til the 8 weeks are up I will have missed 3 payments & therefore defaulted....
They can't just slap a default onto your account (although it's Erudio so they possibly will), if they don't issue with an arrears notice (or two?) with x amount of days to pay, then a default notice, with a further x amount of days to pay, they're breaking the law, and no doubt FCA/CSA rules too.

If Erudio try to claim you're in default after they respond to your original complaint, put another formal complaint in, which will put everything on hold again until your deferment's through ;)

There is a rumor that the admin is subsidised/paid for by the tax payer.

Now there is a good FOI request.
If this is true, then surely it's newsworthy?

Taxpayers have already lost £0.8 BILLION off the face value of these loans, for the benefit of a global debt collector.

Any payments that borrowers make to Erudio will be siphoned off via Wilmington Trust to Jersey/Guernsey, or whatever tax haven, so zero back in return, to offset against the taxpayers' loss.

Borrowers who are legally entitled to defer will make payments to these bar stewards, out of fear of the consequences - arrears, default, credit rating, loan cancellation - take your pick.

If taxpayers are also footing the bill for administering this whole mess (which will be costly, given the amount of effing around Erudio do), then that is beyond scandalous!

I'm happy to make the FOI request :D
• I just got my first email response back from erudio. Didn't realise we had to authenticate our emails.

Please be advised that in order to assist you with your enquiry we require your full name, date of birth and current address to pass our Authentication Process. (Please also include details if you have ever been known under a different name or lived at any other address and your Loan Pack ID if available).

I would be grateful if you could re-submit your email and include the information required so we may assist you.

I trust this is satisfactory, however if we can be of any further assistance then please do not hesitate to contact us.

I provided my name, loan account numbers and student reference number with this. Why do they require anything else? To check out past credit no doubt. Obviously miffed they haven't got these details as informed them I will not use their form.i believe it is all the info in brackets that they are attempting to get.

I thought about this too, but reckon if SLC have info that's not been passed onto Erudio during the transfer, then Erudio can't use or act on that info?

I've put in the SAR request to Erudio, will see what turns up before deciding whether to send a SAR to SLC. If you don't want to wait, maybe Sarebear could let us know how far back the info goes?

The £10 charge covers all of the personal and financial info Erudio has on you, which would include your original loan agreements (if Erudio have them!).

I've just reported my own post as spam and it has been deleted. I was trying to enlarge the print and must have pressed spam instead. Oops.

Erudio want the below details from me before they reply to my email. I did provide my name reference number and student loans. I also wrote to them with my address on it. But look at the info in brackets they want just to reply to me. DCA are out to get us.

Erudio have been doing this from the start, they would wait weeks to reply to an email and instead of dealing with it, would ask for personal info, just to make sure it's you and (of course) they're concerned about the integrity of your data... every time I see this one, Alanis Morisette's(?) "Ironic" pops into my head :D

Because I'd read of Erudio doing this, I added my address and D.O.B. at the end of every email, and they always replied no problem. It's not any more info than they have on you anyway, so I was ok ok with that.

Pluthero's right, we need a sticky post with this sort of thing, and everything in-between (is there room in a sticky!) to save people having to go through all of the previous crap.

Edit: Ignore the previous name/address sh!te, they're phishing!

I made mine to Erudio and they seemed to forward loads of data that SLC must have provided to them - previous addresses etc.

Not sure if it covers CCA as I did a separate ask for this first of all.
