It is big enough that I've had to remove a couple of trees & bushes, as the hedge trimmers wouldn't reach that far (even with the super long extension lead! )It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Could that have dislocated your shoulder if there had been an impact?
Never thought about it - I was trying to prevent having my neck broken by the same impact/strap
What'd you rather have? A snapped neck, or a dislocated shoulder?
I've never been in an accident to date, not as a passenger or as a driver..... so I don't tend to think things through beyond the first thoughts in my head.0 -
Really, you want one parent in the front and one in the back. Likewise, the children. That way, if the back seat passengers survive but those in the front die, the children won't end up as orphans.
Both parents shouldn't go on the same flight, unless all kids are with them, for the same reason. But how many couples do that level of risk control?
They'd also need to have a child behind the adult in the front ... in case it was a side impact.0 -

I dropped into the EA offices to update them with the situation ... and he told me something I didn't know/hadn't expected.... he said (and I checked I hadn't misunderstood) that the seller's solicitors had "lost" the contract, which is why it couldn't exchange last week. Apparently they've now "found" it again.
That's possible, but I am always *deeply* suspicious of any such developments. Tell the EA that you want him to show you other properties in the area. That will put the wind up him! At the moment, your vendors effectively have a free option from you. They can string you along, whilst courting other buyers. You need to put a stop to it.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Logical extension is that the family should be split across 2 different cars.
Don't the royal family have a policy of the monarch and heir not flying on the same flight?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Been in court today. Got a judge to sign off on the deal that we made last month to settle our family's claim as LNE's dependants against the various parties collectively responsible for the accident.
A lot of hanging about, and then a hearing at which my barrister explained what the judge ought to do and she agreed with him. I quite enjoyed listening to him explaining that the maintenance money going forwards didn't need to be tied up and could just be handed over to me because I wasn't the sort of mother to abandon the children and abscond with the cash.
Cheques should be with my solicitor within 3 weeks. Not sure how long it'll be before it their financial dept processes it and sends it to me, but not too much longer after that I hope.
Appointment to discuss B12 deficiency is on Wednesday. Solicitor has had report about DD and is contacting psychotherapist. Inquest will be in a couple of months. Everything feels as though progress is finally being made.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Today I mostly scythed, removed grass from front path, and took my mother to the dentist.

It was fine last night - I was looking forward to the eating the first of my home-grown produce... wasn't the case during my daily breakfast walkabout0
