He now isn't sure whether to be pleased or annoyed at being called Mr Poo these days. He is 9 now so I suppose I should stop. I will....once he's older than me.
Or bigger than you?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

RP liked it earlier, and its not RP's sort of meal, so that bodes well.
In ultimate avoidance rather than put stuff in crispers I mad it straight into gazpacho for the weekend and put it on a shelf in a jug instead.
Maybe this hot weather has helped. It sounds yummy by the way (likewise the gazpacho).
The first couple of flowers are just starting to open on my edible things. I am super excited. Not sure that they're quite photo-worthy yet, but either they will become so or I will concede. Probably the latter.
Was a weird day at work today. Two too many conversations (ie two) about me rather than about work (one a big, completely unexpected compliment; the other a 'mentoring' session so partly nice and supportive and partly uncomfortable (some honest feelings in both directions). Very very glad it's Friday and I have a couple of days away from the office.0 -
It's such a beautiful, beautiful evening. Back at school, no one needing air con, just quiet, a bit of chattering amongst some of the parents and the smell of grass and the most amazing sunset. Fuscia and juicy orangeEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Took the dog for his evening constitutional and it was bright enough to enjoy the view. Got a busy weekend marking, which I will get down to tomorrow. Glad we're getting to the end of the academic year.

The Boy was known as Mr Poo when he was a baby. For some reason this song was being played a lot on the radio and TV at the time.
I have a number of family nicknames. My dad has never called me anything other than my official first name. My mum calls me all manner of things ( including princess, sweet pea/ sweetie etc and little red blob (I was officially premature because of my weight at birth).
Will delete:

Car air-conditioning: will cost 250 plus vat to fix, we may just get used to arriving everywhere looking hot and uncomfortable. Not so bad for me as I rarely drive anywhere far and normally before 9 and after 6, not so good for DW and the kids. We do have a trip on Sunday when no doubt if it is hot and the M25 is stationary we will be reconsidering.I think....0

There are too many trees these days. I like looking at old photos - where they can be compared to "now" - and there's an awful lot of space that's just been bunged up with trees.
Where I was staying 2 years ago it was a 99% trees conservation area; photos from 100 years before showed the area had been flat as a pancake and not even a blade of grass in sight, never mind a tree.
I've got too many trees here .... and now the trees are starting to block out all the light, all day. Glad I'm moving or I'd have had to have chopped half of the branches off just to prevent being able to see outside for more than 10 minutes a day.
Can't notice it's hot, warm, etc. It's just dark/shaded in here.0 -

People have managed to live since... well, Adam and Eve, without air con. I'm sure you'll cope.0
