There was a chap in amongst the Uruguay fans dressed in a silly ginger wig and tartan hat combo, waving a saltire about. Anything you want to own up to Zag?0

My ginger wig is entirely sensible so that rules me out!Doozergirl wrote: »As if not satisfied with having a 57 litre (or whatever) engined car to do the school run, that almost singlehandedly could drain an oil well, the woman next to me has had her engine on whilst stationary for the last fifteen minutes. Presumably for the air conditioning. My car says 19.5 degrees - if you open the window, there's glorious fresh country air and no need for air con.
Or there would be if the woman next to me switched the Range Rover off.lostinrates wrote: »Air con works. If your car is cool enough and you don't open windows doors too often it wall stay cool for a bit. You can do like you'd do heating on a very cold day, short bursts of cold.
Re land rovers, I guess modern ones are different, but with old defenders if you think you are only stopping quater of an hour and haven't done a decent run or about to do a decent run then you are quite likely to leave engine on. It takes a hell of a lot of battery to start one and starting for short journeys with no running time can leave you in trouble.
At uni special girl only lived a few miles from my halls, this is how I know this.
DW was in the US this winter in the US equivalent of center parcs, and was horrified that all the vacationers left their car engines running overnight outside their lodges (oh yes and the cars were at the lodges not in some giant car park miles away)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Sounds grim, and jogged my memory. I once worked with someone who had kidney failure. She couldn't eat salty or spicy food as it would make her thirsty and she couldn't drink faster than she perspired. In fact depending on the weather she could work out how many mls of liquid she could sip over the day.
Had to spend large chunks of the week hooked up to a machine.
I've not kept track of what happened to her over the last 10 years but hope she got a kidney. If not there's only about a 10% chance she's alive now.
There was a youtube video about a teacher who gave a kidney to a student who needed it. Now I'm a dad I don't feel like giving away any organ a relative might need but I admire the courage, magnaminity and selflessnesss of the teacher. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

PN, I caught the tail end of My Last Summer - it was episode 2. I was intrigued so I watched episode 3. Oh my. It wasn't sad, it was awful.
I felt so bad, that they had such unrealistic expectations of her and that he couldn't make peace with the idea of dying. It was undignified, painful, desperate. She was so honest and her grief so raw. The poor womanEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Hopefully you'll be feeling a bit better when you read this. First part is great news. A couple of days respite then roll on Wednesday. Nearly there Gen, and soon you'll be able to eat all the chilli prawns you fancy. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
