From what you posted Spirit, it sounds like your ex colleague must have felt that the redundancies were handled well under the circumstances (to have kept in touch). Which is no mean feat.

I was always about ... didn't always post though as I didn't want to "gush" and make you "feel swamped". Maybe nothing's ever the same after this point in life, at whatever age that comes.... but I suspect people "of our age" as a group are most likely to get to this point around about this age.

I watched "My Last Summer" last night. Saw the first one, don't know if I just watched the 2nd or 3rd; I just randomly flicked round the channels and found another episode so watched it. One of their number met his demise.

We're not! But hospital is.

But yes, south south south, or west..... Depending what we're doing. I'm not a beach fan tbh.

I did wonder if you were close to me, but didn't want to ask while you were there in case you felt awkward at not having said/under obligation to meet up.
