    We do.

I don't think that means that LIR should feel under any pressure to post every day though.

    Just sayin'.

Well I was going for no, but you have a fair point PN.

Gen, a friend of mine had radio when she had lung cancer, which in effect burned her oesophagus, making it very difficult for her to swallow anything. There were various options to make her more comfortable, which helped a great deal.

When dad was going sibling set up his account as a joint account so it'd transfer over automatically; that made things a lot easier, although still a pain as it went: single account, joint account, back to a single account, then with me as a PoA (and you get your own card/cheque book for that)... never knew that, I'd simply got mum's card and had been told her PIN.

I think it may be very hard to get this process right without a lawyer's advice. I've heard rumours that peoples joint accounts have been closed / suspended when one of the partners becomes incapacitated, and also that some kinds of power of attorneys may also not be valid in all circumstances.

In many ways... if someone dies the legal framework is set up to cope with it. If the earning partner in a couple becomes comatose and incapable of looking after the affairs of the couple it becomes a nightmare very quickly unless you've got the right legal advice before that happens.

And, it's not just elderly couples... anyone can get bashed on the head at any time.

LiR, take care of yourself first, your family second, and then the rest of the world third... no one minds if you have to step away from the keyboard to deal with real life stuff. We just hope you're allright, eh?

Yes, if both have an income it's easier. If one's the main income it's overnight £0 coming in.

A problem we had was stupid stuff, like the phone bill being in one name and needing to change it to the spouse. You wouldn't believe the daft systems they have in place that make this really difficult to do.

For us, the most seamless was the state pensions. We registered the death and all the pension stuff just sorted itself automatically before we'd even thought about it/got round to looking into it!

Gen, I'm not surprised you are feeling lousy. They are presumably giving you the maximum radiation dosage they can whilst limiting the side effects. You have radiation sickness!

I am not sure that it is wise of your manager to insist that you come into work at the moment. The chances are quite high that you will mess up royally, through no fault of your own, so I hope that you're not doing anything too crucial at the moment. It may be sensible to write to your manager formally asking to be put on more mundane duties for the moment. Then, when the inevitable happens, you can point the finger of blame at him!
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Rice: if it were not possible to safeY reheat arancini would be impossible. :) Somethings have cooking risks. Cooking meats for example, dealing with shellfish, cooling and reheating rice safely, and various other things.

Yoghurt. Differences between yoghurt and chocolate mousse depend on the yoghurt partly. But volume wise less chocolate mousse to the same size pot, which impacts on claire by volume, and also why you can happily eat more than one mousse when a single yoghurt 'fills the same void' ( besides any stuff about protein content).

Yoghurt with candy flavour and stuff is probably not as nice as chocolate mouse and no better for you, 'real' yoghurt is a different thing, in several guises, and while might be as calorific as a mousse in most, the calories might well do something useful. ( and its tasty)

Eg. Some studies suggest its useful against type two diabetes, its good for sieges * in many cases and it has 'non empty ' calories.

Both real yoghurt and chocolate mousse have places ina normal diet IMO, but for me the mousse would be home made and a little less light. The candy yogurt could all go in the bin.

Likewise juice v coke. Juice is not as 'healthful' in most normal applications as the fruit its from. Yummy though, :). I consider orange and grapefruit juice half and half ( or with a squeeze of lime too) the ultimate high day breakfast treat, ( stick the yoghurt that day! ) but its free from fibre and abiding and very sugary. BUT, unlike coke the sugar is usually accompanied by some vitamins so while not as good as the fruit, and certainly not good between meals, as a meal replacer or with a meal, its not the same as coke even if the same calories. Veg juice ( with some tart apple for sweet ness) has often formed a meal for me when I cannot cope with insoluble fibre for various reasons ( health like recently or vanity like when trying to get into very form fitting clothes in the past, no carbs, no insoluble fibre, etc some nights for some clothes)

Um, coke.....yeah, not surprising that names less common in uk but ok in rest of Europe are not that uncommon with the way coke operate in the world and within Europe. Makes sense.

    Um, dog foot,

Chewing is a sign of stress, caused either by pain or boredom usually. Is she older? Could she be getting early arthritis and be needing low level medication for that? Or missing mil, feeling a bit 'unwanted'? Depending on what type of ears she has i's also keep an eye out for if she is holding her ears back a bit farther than usual, or if she is panting a bit more than normal. Family member of yours said lump was harmless right? Then leave it unless that's changed, why spend money on it if harmless and cUsing no problem. The chewing, is more of a concern. Buster collar might actually increase stress, so while if vet recommended it probably necessary to let skin heal, bear in mind will make her more stressed creating vicious circle often. Vets can either be very good about understanding this or real flops. If you think of the foot chewing as similar to a child rocking in a cot in one of those orohanages that used to be on the news, its a sort attempt to self soothe. Or how some animals rock side to side in zoos? This is what people like me call 'stereotypical. Behaviours'. Is the rest of her general health ok? There IS a reason and she's not doing it to be difficult. You might be able to divert her on to some fresh RAW bones ( raw are fine, cooked are dangerous) could she have raw bones in the garden? Ribs would be ideal, cow, or lamb. Non weight bearing bones are best, but mine Do get weight bearing bones because its what I can get. This MIGHT reduce the behaviour, but it will not solve the cause, unless it is boredom.

What else? Chewy, congratulations, I like the green, ones, but best the palest one at the end of the row, not because I think its right for your room, ( as others said, who can tell without seeing your furniture and knowing your taste) but for an odd probably pseudoscientific reason for which I have no reference so won't go into. Otherwise, may I dare say.....they look a bit randomly selected?

Cannot remember what else i just read.

    * have no idea what I was trying to say their and for claire read calories.
