-Mental health issues can be triggered through cannabis use.
-Can be addictive
-Smoking
-Loss of motivation in life as a whole
-Memory loss
-Can aggravate the effects of other drugs, notably alcohol
I mentioned it because the harm to others part of the graph is quite high and only a fraction less than smoking. Hence my fascetious comment about the munchies. Not harm to the individual, but to others.
In terms of Pastures's point about crime etc, that's the same for other drugs too, but they score lower.
I don't smoke dope and don't advocate for it, just want to understand why the negative effect on others is so big and what the number is made up of.
However the reason I want to know is purely because I'm putting off that least enjoyable of Sunday experiences - the weekly visit to Tesco. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I guess that depends on if you're a mormon or not....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

With no kids to support, you can afford to buy your own!
Is not (just) about the presents though. Its about all of these celebrations where you're reminded of what you're missing out on. I sent some of my fellow spinster friends cards on Valentines day to tell them that I love them and thank them for their friendship.0 -
Things I've given up:
Almost completely, drinking.
Completely, Tobacco
Almost completely, sugar soda (I still do low calorie soda drinks)
Almost completely, crisps.
Most of the time, puddings.
Life is very boring in the tomterm8 household.
I still have chocolate left... mmm, chocolateBut maybe not for long.

Yes, it's not about the presents ... it's that there's a lot of stuff where you're excluded and made to feel excluded. There's a lot of marketing to "include" a group of people that excludes everybody else.... and if there's never anything that includes you then you can feel left out, as if you don't matter.
Then, as you get older *grins* ... silly stuff starts to "grate". e.g. I was driving yesterday and there was a sign "Family Fun Day" - and it just makes you think "so where's MY fun??" Or "kids eat free" - when do I eat free?0 -
....
Two statistics that stick with me are with regard to calories:
- a regular pot of supermarket yoghurt contains more calories than a regular pot of supermarket chocolate mousse.
- a glass of fruit juice has more calories than a glass of Coke.
Makes me laugh when people say they're eating "healthily" by eating yoghurt and drinking fruit juice. They're not as "good" as their statement implies.
Actually, for the first time the other week, I randomly picked up a multi-pack of Mr S cheapo chocolate mousses.... hadn't had any of those for a couple of years..... only 40p or something daft for 6. They were GORGEOUS(100 calories/pot)
I also used to prefer a curly wurly to any chocolate bar that called itself "diet" as it felt like you were eating a "proper chocolate bar" and it tasted nicer. Stopped eating those in 2006 when one took a filling out on my birthday0 -
I'm down to 16st10 (just jumped on the scales for the first time in a month)
Ideal weight for my height is 14st3 at the higher end, so I'm definitely getting there.💙💛 💔0 -
Today's Google maps annoyance is - there's no little orange man to drop onto the map to have a look around. If I type in an address then I can click on Streetview (top left hand corner/sample photo from that spot), but what I'd typically do is type in a town name, then zoom in/move around until I saw where/what I was after (or randomly think 'what's there then?) ... and so I'll drop the orange man onto maps as and when I choose/randomly.0

Do we know if the 'harm to others' includes the impact of it being legal/illegal?
Apart from a lack of exercise my lifestyle would appear to be very healthy but most people with a much less healthy lifestyle seem to have much better health than me so I am not convinced.I think....0
