Only just PN. And hopefully that won't be your situation for too much longer. Whereas I bet my piles of stuff will still be here!
My friend was very polite, and concentrated on what I had done (eg dining table and doorway) rather than what I haven't (e.g. tidying). We sat out in the gardenat my table

When we had the kids party in the garden everyone had to walk through the garage and we kept the blinds closed so no-one could see in - and it is 2 years since our building work was 'finished'....I think....0

The way I read Gen's post, he would only get 80% until he reached pension age, and then he'd drop down to whatever the pension level is - which is presumably less than 80%.
Correct.
Let's say I make $50,000 a year. My employer puts in 12% on top into my super.
If I'm sick so can't work I get 80% of $56,000 a year increasing with inflation each year. Once I hit 65, those payments stop and I can access my super fund and also qualify for the age pension subject to normal means testing.
The more normal level of insurance is I'd get 80% of the $50,000 only for just 5 years. Then I'm on state benefits.0 -
The law of unintended consequences. I had 32 pairs of white socks of DS2's to wash, amongst his home-from-uni clutter. Having drilled him in whites always being washed separately he had calculated that it was often a lot less hassle to go to Primark and buy new pairs of socks than buy washing powder and pay for the launderette and waste hours washing and drying the dirty socks.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
