You lot don't half witter on!
After a quick scan - congrats chewy. Pastures will be asking you lots of questions relating to groin thrusting. Prepare your response carefully...
Doozergirl - wahey, work started! Kinda glad you didn't take my offer up now...(seriously, it is still there).
In other news, jelly 1 brambles 0. Next door is quite seriously overgrown. Big stuff (even coming through the fence! )
Have discovered that even with extension leads, the hedge trimmers reach only so far. As a result, all trees/shrubs are being cut down past that point.
I've cut down 3 bags of brambles, 2 small trees, something very (ouch!) prickly, and found a second bin (handy for sorting the green waste).
I've fitted a new washing line, and then extended it (added value?) & repeatedly cut the grass to get it in some shape.
The new James album arrived, & it is lovely. Sounded great on my new record player in the music room. Also been listening to Michael Franti a lot, as well as a few bits & bobs I haven't listened to in ages.
Very keen to get the library sorted. However have to wait for strapping people to visit & bring the last (heavy) bookcase up to it. Then I can get cracking. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
We are in! No hitches and currently drinking cheapo bubbly plonk in an empty house. Furniture arrives tomorrow.0

That's good
Not sure how I'll end up getting broadband available when I move .... not sure how all that "moving/changing numbers" works really
I've a number here and I think they have Sky there. Also, exchange is a different STD Code. So no idea how it works out.... there's a slim chance it doesn't even have a phone line (which hadn't occurred to me until this minute!). I suspect phone line might have got a mention on the F&F forms/paperwork.... all those tick boxes.0 -
That is like the story of the boy who arrived home at school all hot and sweaty. His mother asked him why, and he said that he had run home after the bus, in order to save the fare. She told him that he should've run home after a taxi, and then he would've saved even more.
Oh, and as you will not be buying five packets of grapes, you've saved nearly £20! Congratulations, what will you spend the money on?
Not sure... there must be some way I can use that £20 to save even more by not buying something else too ..... I'll be rich at this rate!0 -

Think that'll be what I end up doing anyway silvercar to be honest.
I didn't omit to comment because I didn't see the question, or didn't care .... it's just I'm not really what you'd call an Interior Designer
I'm the sort of person that wouldn't have bought the poster in the first place, in order to avoid this type of issue (and further spend).
For me, it wouldn't just be the poster.... then the frame.... I'm also "Handy Challenged" so wouldn't be able to get it safely onto the wall, requiring "a little man" to be employed at some point to put up a hook.0 -
Congrats chewy and Mrs chewy _party_Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

However, I believe it's an activity exclusively undertaken by homeowners.... an outside activity - and needs lots of gin.0 -

I'm happy for my grass to remain grass shaped ......
For me, the priorities will be:
- does the telly work?
- is broadband connecting?
- is the fridge on and is it full of Pepsi?
The rest can wait.0
