    Always buy a Miele.

They never break down and last for ages.

The only downside is if you ever need to move the damn thing you need to hire a HIAB

I would always keep my dishwasher topped up with salt and rinse aid, I wonder if tenants do the same?

    If I were a tenant in a place with a dishwasher .... it'd not be used :)
No idea how to use one!
If I did "give it a go" ..... by Googling, watching/panicking while it was working .... I'd probably not know about "topped up with ...."

Not adding rinse aid should lead to nothing worse than grubby glasses. Too much rinse aid (eg rinse aid plus all in one tablets) can make the machine leak.

No salt leads to limescale on the element. That should be easy to spot.

Not wanting to tout a UKIP line in any way but it worries me that the media are all about 'what tonight's results might mean for the general election - the big one'. it is disappointing that the UK don't think more about who they send to make decisions on our behalf to a legislature that arguably have just as much influence over UK laws a nd policies as those in Westminster.

In other news the dishwasher has stopped working in the rented house again grr.

You need to make a note to self that the next rental ad says "space for dishwasher"

The BBC News facebook page is full of people who somehow think that voting UKIP councillor a into their local government will solve any UK immigration problem.

I made a comment about ignorant people being lulled by UKIP sound bites but not understanding the difference between Local, National and European government. I was met by a comment from a man with darker skin than me, calling me baby and asking me something along the lines of 'should we let every immigrant in and end up in financial crisis like Greece?' I felt the need to tell him that he was exactly the person I was talking about and that he had just voted for a UKIP representative to decide what day his bins get collected.

I'm freezing. I'd quite like to put the heating on.

Bit harsh, really. You could say the same thing about any of the major parties.

The real problem I see is that it's hard to be convinced that people are voting based on the actual policies of parties when practically no one (including me) has a clue what the European Parliament legislative agenda actually is.

I mean, what do these people do all day?

Europe made thousands of laws and regulations over the last four or five years but if you asked most people what they were... not a clue.

Go for it - 1 hour at about 50p is cheaper than the glass of wine you'll think is a solution if you don't turn it on :)

This place is warm, I checked the EPC yesterday and it's a 76/C, then compared it with the new house, which is an 82/B. So new house (as I suspected), on paper, should be just as warm/warmer.

What I mean is that the results today are for local elections. We didn't have locals here yesterday, which I am grateful for as the Europeans have clouded things for people. The local elections are far more about whether you want free swimming for kids at the local pool, or a large development stopped or whether you agree with fortnightly bin collections and if garden recycling should be free.

People have gone to vote thinking that it's all a big (European or) Immigration debate and are celebrating UKIP's portion of the vote today on very local government issues that have no bearing at all on anything outside their council tax district. Vote for UKIP in Europe if you want, but what value do they add to the local cause? They've attracted a good portion of their vote from idiots.

Soundbite from UKIP spokesperson on radio 4 this morning. UKIP failed to do well in London because they find it hard to appeal to the educated and cultured.
