Cat obedience (sorry if I posted previously)

Thanks for that Generali, OH and I both sat and watched and laughed. :) Also sent it to DD2 who is currently catless :( as in town house without garden, though great view of the marine lake at West Kirby with grandstand views of the Wilson Cup recently (though meaningless to her and dear SiL as they know nothing about sailing racing rules) that they enjoyed. Swings and roundabouts, they want a home with a garden eventually for the Twins to burn off energy in, and also they can have a cat again.
70 seconds between planes, like a metronome. We are a few miles further away from heathrow than we lived before so we are getting the traffic from both runways whereas we only go the traffic from the south runway before I think. I am glad this is only until Saturday, despite the view and the flock of what I presume are house martins buzzing around overhead.

Oh, I do envy you the house martins! Don't envy you the planes - though DD2 and SiL just moved from a house VERY close to Liverpool John Lennon Airport... The planes weren't as frequent as yours, well most of the time they weren't. But they were VERY low! Garden was to die for though, with a proper cabin at the end with plumbed in shower and toilet - garden was so long you needed the facilities! ;) They only sold as had Twins, so suddenly needed a bedroom more than they'd planned on! :rotfl: No chance to extend more than they did already as it was Grade II Listed. DD2 reckoned after the first 2-3 weeks there they stopped noticing the plane noise mostly, though you always had to momentarily pause the conversation if you were sitting out in the garden! :rotfl:

My grass cuttings will go into the composters,

Don't just put grass cuttings into your composters as they will just turn into foul smelling slime! You need to add other stuff - shredded paper, toilet roll middles (these are really good as they help conduct air into the mix), twiggy rubbish. There's a good intro to composting from the RHS here.

From what I remember you will have a big back garden - have fun in it! Gardening is an ongoing work, sometimes it can feel like a bit of a chore, but worth in the end to have that great outdoor space. Actually I find weeding very relaxing - there's something meditational about it. Good thing, as we still have plenty to do at the Allotment!!! :rotfl:

I just need to get on with more seed sowing!

It'll ferment and turn into something like silage. Horrible. After mowing the lawn twice in succession after ignoring it all winter it's all full of clover. Supposed to be good for the nitrogen in the soil I believe. At least that's what I'm telling myself as I haven't a clue how to get rid of it even if I wanted to.

I've had that problem, and can't answer it for you as I left it.

Will catch up on yesterdays talkings later, as I've not had time to think yet this week. What I'm doing is commercially sensitive (however I will possibly be able to say something at the end of this week), but I dont think I'll be around here much this week because of that.

    Speak later!

If they are anything like teachers then it has been hammered into them that they must not under any circumstances touch the things unless they will, if necessary, be able to produce legitimate medical reasons for doing so. Don't take it personally!

    ;)

There is a legitimate medical reason for teachers to give breast exams?

I don't take it personally. Just explaining really that nipple tassels are wasted on this outing.

    Good luck tomorrow lir.

    TMI alert...

I went for a slightly overdue routine smear test about 10 days ago. Afterwards, when driving to work I was mildly horrified to remember that I hadn't epilated my legs for almost a month:o

when I was admitted as an emergency cardiac patient I was quite shocked. The surgeon arrived and told me I was first on the lsit the following day..then asked if he could see my left leg. Thy would harvest a vein from there.

I did not want to show it...all I could think was "my legs need waxing".

The surgeon and I were on first name terms as he was both a parent of a child at DD's school and someone who also held a Clinical Manager role and I regularly worked with him at that time.

How easy is it to find short term lets? Or are you in a travelodge?

We are in a holiday let at the moment. There are loads available although many were pretty grotty studios - it was easy enough to find this place though. The rent is much, much more than you would pay for a normal rental as you would expect - probably close to double. Luckily some friends are putting us up from Saturday - it would have been a lot more difficult to find something vaguely affordable for 3 weeks that was actually available at short notice. For 4 nights though we could afford to splurge.

I am knackered. I woke up at 4:30 this morning and barely slept afterwards. It's been a slog getting through today.
