Exchanged on Friday - completion date is 9th June. It was all rather stressful! Good luck with yours - nearly there and sounds like you'll be moving in before us?

How easy is it to find short term lets? Or are you in a travelodge?

Nudge had her baby, chewy has had problems with completion date. Pn is planning on building a beach/ cat litter tray in her garden. She's kids school are pants and she's running herself ragged. Lydia in advertantly reminded us why she is one of the nicest people. Um, forgotten the rest.

Until told otherwise, I am calling the baby Nudge.

If I were under a flight path I'd worry about random, frozen, chunks of wee dropping off them and landing on my head.... and/or the occasional asylum seeker who clung valiantly to the landing gear until it dropped down...

I worked right by Heathrow for a long time and DH is still at Heathrow, honestly, this never happens (random bits of plane and asylum seekers as chewy says, well that's a different matter. People also sometimes worry about the paint job on their cars when fuel is jettisoned.

About the strangest thing that happened to me (not long after 9/11) is I walked out of work and there were special branch agents with guns hidden in the bushes. IIRC there was a flight school nearby and one of the students had links to terrorism. Though I think the hiding in bushes was for effect.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Bennudgeboy? (DH and I have a joke about what a son of ours would have been called for his 'Jewish' name, they are REALLY unimaginative in dh's family.

Silly thing. Think that was a lirism rather than a typo. Funny, I think generally I am doing better for those.

I presume you mean you moved earlier today .... and the dropping wasn't earlier. Is that the one found in the street? I remember the story if it was - Portman Avenue, December 2012?

    They identified him http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-22111204

And they eventually found his family: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-25576086

That's desperately sad. Multiple injuries doesn't sound like cold or lack of oxygen either

LJ, that's brilliant! I have just moved meeting a friend from next weekend to this weekend if you want some help, or someone to watch you and drink wine :D. I'm quite good at putting things in alphabetical order. Not as practised as viva, perhaps, but acceptable!

Chewy, I would settle for the view and the flight path, it's good for a more than a short few weeks for me. It looks like we need to rent a small place where Chiswick is accessible by car more than public transport for 6 months, you may be the person to ask for potential locations? Budget will not stretch to that view, by any stretch of the imagination, however!

Ok, so I am ready for tomorrow. I have my best underwear ready so that if I get scored again I feel suitably attired.

I have used a quarter of a tub of body butter , which is a bit silly as this guy will be interested in my dry skin.

It feels a bit like getting ready for a date you are going on out of duty rather than desire. ;).

I am sure I said I was going to do less of this this year?

    what'd I miss then?

T minus 1 week and counting...:)

Doozergirl's just asked that. This is what I told her:
    LydiaJ wrote: »
As for what you've missed ... there's some stuff "elsewhere" that you might want to join in with. Chewy has exchanged. PN has bought a reclining garden chair despite having nowhere to put it yet and is debating whether to buy sand or nick it from the beach. Gen's Boy is finding life difficult at school because of worrying about Gen's cancer. Sue's Youngest continues to be have his needs woefully neglected by his school. Lir's trees are infected, and all but one of Spirit's chickens have been taken by a fox. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but I expect the others will fill in the gaps.

Lydia - like we needed reminding! ;)

Awww thanks - both to you and to lir for the original comment.

Went to the solicitors today. Signed almost all bits & bobs. Awaiting a call that the completion date will be next week - not likely to get the call before tomorrow now I assume!

Yay! Exciting. Hope it all goes smoothly from here on. :D

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Trying to decide if that's my second or third choice out of the selection of three ways to go.
