Gen will be up soon if he isn't already. Hope you're not too sore if it is wearing off a bit and are getting lots of pampering and sofa time.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Just finished the videos and quiz for week 3. Really enjoyed this week, probably the most interesting so far. Have decided to go for the harder track so have also submitted my first assignment (due I think in six days). Balancing two MOOCs at the same time is not easy. This is definitely my favourite of the two.

I was toying with the idea of the harder version, but I think I'll stick to the easier one now. Might have to postpone the 2nd course too.
I've just done this weeks lectures too. Again, one of the experiments I completely disagreed with the conclusions drawn (can't remember which one now).

CK, is the Russian song good enough to make the final and you think it will be a political vote that they won't, or have they fielded a weak entry?

I think if they hadn't p!$$ed everyone off, they'd probably have got through, but (and can someone else check this link, don't click it Viva) I don't think it's that strong song bearing in mind what I know their vocal capabilities to be.

The songwriter is well known to be pro-Putin, which has made me more angry, but I think it's more a case that Russia would have gone through on a political vote, not because the song is that good.
My colleague at work (the one who I constantly chat to about Eurovision, the Brits aren't interested) is from Hungary, so will be delighted to hear you're placing her national entry near the top.

It's so meaningful, although I won't say any more, as I don't want to spoil it for you. Here for anyone but Viva.

I hope he's feeling better, as I have worried about him a little.

Oh, Flanders & Swann. What a nostalgia fest. :D

I too have a CD with their best hits on it. Must confess that the Gas Man Cometh is probably the one which springs to mind most often (after the Hippo song, of course).

For me, it's bits of Flanders talking between the songs that keep springing to mind. I want to say "I concur with every word you say" and "He wants to get his word in, edgeways like a fish slice" quite often, but I know most people won't have a clue what I'm on about, so I don't.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Yup, I'm awake.

It reminds me of the line in Hitch Hickers Guide to the Galaxy that I feel horribly like being drunk.
What's so horrible about being drunk?
    Ask a glass of water.

I had 4 hours sleep last night. My brain has been removed and replaced with recycled jelly-wrestlers' jelly and my neck is killing me. I've leaked blood all over the pillow.

This is horrible although a necessary part of getting well again.

I had some spare vacation time that had to be used by end of March, so have used that to knuckle down. I don't think I would have had time otherwise. Even with that, it is still a stretch to do two. The other one is nowhere near as big as this one.

Hang on to the "necessary" part of that idea, and the "getting well" part.

Hugs to you and Mrs Gen and the Generalissimos. :grouphug:

I think I'm about to temporarily suspend having any 'spare' time starting on Friday :( Knew it would happen this month, I'm just getting into the swing of seeing friends, enjoying the garden etc. Oh well. Hopefully this will be the last year of my vacations in the office!

Just this once we will forgive you for your jellyism....

...you do know you don't have to keep us up to date if you don't want to, I had a relative go through something similar recently and they set up a news email address and comm'd on their own terms with the understanding that that meant that everyone should leave them in peace.
    I think....
