So there we are. Just radiotherapy to go through, almost certainly.

Good luck with it. My Mother had to go through that and it was bad enough watching her go through it, let alone go through it oneself.

A friend of a friend had the op. Looks worse than it is. After recovering physically from the op it took her a few months to get the right balance of thyroxin in her body again, but once she was sorted she said she felt 20 years younger. She is also more pleasant now. As I say I'm only a friend of a friend so not much contact. She did say that she was unlucky to need the op, as a lot of people can be sorted with medication.

Hopefully medication will sort it, but if not, I hope I feel 20 years younger after!

My mother, who's 81, has breast cancer, goes in for her op on Tuesday. Doc says tests show it's not the most aggressive type, and he doesn't think it's spread, but that's all the info I have really at the moment.
She is currently refusing all offers of help for before, during and after - although is allowing my brother to drive her to the hospital for 6.45 am on the day.
    Vibes appreciated!

Good luck to your mother - have all the good vibes I have :)

I feel really frustrated today about house again. I have been spending some of my day reading an installation guide for something and feeling disappointed. I was going to go out today but this is more pressing ATM. I haven't taken meds because I needed to have some concentration more than I have and the meds impair it further. At least I now see things to resolve myself, less reliant on others opinions.

Sigh. I need to be like this all the time! I told people today what I wanted because I was 'here' and able to think about wider scope.

Fir is coming home tonight. His office are for some reason being great about flexibility. DH sat at spoke with a partner a couple of weeks ago about this years tests and the potential surgery if they are 'useful' and the partner was just 'you do what you gotta do' and agreed DH should be with me, DH raised that he'd like tomorrow working from home at very short notice because we only knew this week. with those he is currently working with and the one dissenter was shut down by the partner today.

    Sea change? Hope so.

Tfl.gov.uk journey planner reckons 40 mins from that post code to Oxford street. Camberwell is also pretty much the joint worst part of London as well. I wouldn't walk through it in day light.

It's not as bad as where our old office was (right on the SE19/25 divide, where opposing gangs are).

The road the unit was on, was the only road I knew in the area that didn't have a fatal shooting in the last 5 years.

My top 10 tonight are (in order on stage): Malta, Israel, Norway, Georgia, Poland, Austria, Lithuania, Belarus, Greece, Romania.

Lithuania are so sweet, giving us always 12 points, so hopefully again this year ;)

I'm watching from the Press Center tonight, as there is for us no performance until Saturday now.

If you're friends/friendly, & discussed it in a reasonable way, I'm fairly sure they'd be happy to discuss it with you.
I guess a lot of that depends on your relationship though.

I'm sure she will discuss it, we get on well. She has a phone that tells her everything audibly and a personal organiser type thing in braille. Clever kit.
Miroslav.....just one thing.....I don't know if its convenient for you, but Dorchester might be worth considering? One of my parents had a thyroidectomy under the care of an amazing physician and a fantastic surgeon. If Yeovil is a consideration then I thought I'd throw it out there as an option as well.

Dorch is just down the road, so if that's where they ask me to go....Yeovil have always been good to me though.

A friend has gone to Glastonbury today, so that may be an option too.

According to the crime maps, it's all average (coloured yellow). Not as bad as many other places in/around London.... just average.

I'd turn it around & state they've not been reasonable or flexible with you, when you've pushed for this for weeks with no success.
24 hours notice is (imo) not a reasonable time frame either. That's neither reasonable, nor flexible.
They're going to have to repair, or sell as a wreck/do-er upper.
Offer to meet in the middle - exchange in a week/2 weeks or similar where you have evidence the work is being carried out, & also the place is more secure & no further delays.

I've already said flat out we are not exchanging tomorrow - we can't really anyway as my solicitor is not in funds and we haven't got insurance yet (given no exchange date...). I think he was actually trying to propose an immediate open ended exchange with an intention to complete in 5/6 weeks if possible. That is certainly not on the table.

I like SC's idea - they can have an immediate exchange if they want it but the price is that our part of the chain has to complete in 3 weeks time.

If they don't want to complete for 6 weeks then we can set the completion date now and then we can agree a mutually convenient date for exchange in a few weeks' time.

Never been to Glastonbury...where in the town is it? :o. ( I used to be a Somerset gal, hence my familiarity with health provision despite now being eastwards, though it feels like it m I don't just arrive in random counties trying out the hospitals :o)

Re: 'where they ask you to go' can I suggest you look at the choices yourself, see what YOU feel comfortable with ( perhaps check if anyone in any of the teams have special interest in graves) and indicate where you want to be referred to?

I feel generally I get better service, in private or NHs, when DH and I are prepped, informed and know what I can expect and want of services.

You'll be ok, btw:). Nice people tend to be pretty resilient as a group. ( whether or not we like mushrooms )

    I'm at that stage now.
Seller has made an offer to get done & dusted in the next week (see update over there).
Tentatively hoping that in 2.5 weeks I won't be bothering everyone with silly questions about buying somewhere & will have progressed to silly questions about what to do whilst moving in!

I like the security of exchanging, so that no-one has the opportunity to gazump or gazunder.

I'm not sure with Glastonbury, but it is possible.

I guessed you must have been a Somerset gal at some stage. How long ago did you leave?

I can ask where I want to be referred? Usually they will try and get me to local, but not always possible.

I have my test tomorrow to confirm whether it's graves or whether it's something else, but GP reckons the probability is high. Either way, it's Hyperthyroidism and i'll have to embrace it. If it turns out it's not graves, it will be something else.

I'll be as prepped as I can be. Prep always helps.

I'll be fine. If it comes to the worst then I just have to hope people will be around me.

I've also an eye test tomorrow. I was recommended by both GP's to
book an eye test. I guess they will know what graves is.
