I'd be more surprised if they actually did something they were supposed to!

    Hope the exams go well.

    You and me both!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Hello and thanks for the welcomes.

I live in Somerset, not Herts

Yes, i've had a couple of bereavements (Partner, daughter) that have changed me. I was never a bad person, but i'm now more patient with people.

Sadly, today I had bad news about my own health.

I'm sorry to hear that. Want to talk about it?

Thanks....well if anyone knows anything about Hyperthyroidism or Graves disease....or can put up with me :o

Been struggling for a long time but the last month i've been waking up and having to walk down the stairs holding both bannisters and taking one step with both feet at a time, suffering blurred vision, lost hearing in one ear for about two minutes after putting ear wax remover in (apparently it wasn't a case of putting too much in) always hot, incredibly thirsty, tired, aching etc, so I went to the GP last week and they took blood tests.

Went back today expecting like every other blood test down the years to be clear and she said I have Hyperthyroidism and will find out about Graves Disease next week.

She said I wouldn't have to give up work......yet. She hopes medication will sort it all out but my symptoms weren't good. The problem being i've been 'suffering' for years with GP's palming me off, often using the excuse of depression because after my bereavements I was naturally depressed. Finally someone took me seriously and caught this.1

I will be referred to an Endrocrinologist for treatment with worse case scenario, surgery on my neck.

I shouldn't be reading up on it as i've read really bad cases may be loss of sight and amputations.

It could be that medication will balance my body out again, but i've been thrown a curveball and the difference in my body in the last few weeks really concerns me.

So, I feel horrible right now :o Tried explaining to one of my workplaces and the boss just chuckled "you're falling apart" - helpful - although he probably did it as i'm always clowning about myself - laugh in the face of adversity and all that.

Thanks for reading if you got this far :o

Looks like we're in the final straight!

On the verge of signing the contract papers - according to the most recent solicitors letter.

I've posted what I hope is a very final question in t'other place. Any information would be hugely appreciated (i'm going to have a bit of a google anyway).

    doozergirl, fantastic solicitors recommendation!

This kinda thing really annoys me. Had the same experience with my grandad. I still get very  about that whole scenario.
