n'ah, she can have it. (after all, i steal her daddy for big tracts of time)

i made doozer talk to me at a weekend about tedious plumber stuff and dh is going to text him a list tomorrow. i'll stick putting washing line on it as a favour instead huh? dh's drill doesn't seem to be doing the job. we're using a masonary drill bit.don.t know why its not working.

It's just the amount of power behind it. Even they have a 'proper' drill that comes out for special occassions. Perhaps your washing line counts as one of those. I bet no-one has done a sponsored washing line installation before!

I felt outsmarted by my supermarket loyalty/ credit card last night. Was planning to put about £20 of petrol in to get me to the end of the month. But as the card was being read the pump flashed a message that my loyalty vouchers could give me 2p off if I used it today. I couldn't recall how long the 2p discount was good for (and I thought I needed to physically find that voucher and bring it with me) and was worried they'd expire soon.

I click yes, and filled the tank to the brim with discounted petrol. Felt the loyalty scheme was very much two steps ahead of me.

Thought I was quoting the bit about The Americans, loved series 1, Series 2 looks to be just as good, though I suspect anyone watching for the first time may be confused.

If you are talking about Tesco, the discount would have lasted to end of April.

That is very kind. I would pm you the link if you had free PM space! I'm happy to put in for you and do that, but did you lend him some cash already when he forgot his lunch money? :o

Tut tut, LIR fell for the old "oh dear! I left my wallet behind!" line?

Glad to hear LIR is luxuriating in frequent hot baths, with heating available. Long-awaited, and I bet hugely appreciated.

OH is doing the marathon on 13th April, and I'm going the next day to stay with my parents while OH and Isaac are in Israel for Passover. My last day in court is 30th April (local) and baby due on 14th May.

I bought Dan's ebooks for £9. There are 50,000 people signed up for the course. If 20% buy the books, that's £90k of sales. What %age royalties does he get on ebooks?

70%. (If he is self publishing) .

It's fair, if people want the books they ought to pay for 'em.

Sympathy vote from the judge if you go into labour in court?

the hot water is amazing....but the first thing i did is clean the room the dogs sleep in and my sititng room the room the dogs seep in took me two days. my sitting room only took normal length of time, but the ability to do it with half a bucket of hot soapy water instead of a kettle and some fussing was just ...incredibly less draining. i have a very mucky wall i have half an eye on doing tomorrow, and then the utility room, which will be filthy again on friday but i need to get some pictures before changes, so will give things a tidy and scrub.

    :D

my architect said to me on saturday i had the patience of a saint. i simply don,t recognise that description at all, i am far from patient, but i'm not so foolish as to think it happens in a snap of fingers even if i want it to. in fact a little more patience might have been a good thing .....

what i have is a decent sense of humour and an acceptance that things don't always go to plan. if we didn't have the ability to face it we shouldn't have bought a house like this with plans like ours i guess.:D

ndg, it mustn't seem this way to you, but to me you seem to have incubated this one very quickly.

Probably grant me anything I want in order to avoid playing midwife!

I think it's very unlikely, though - I was induced 3 days after term with Isaac, and no signs at all I was about to go into labour. I was nearly 3 weeks late (due 14th March, born 31st) and my mother went on to have 3 further sections at between 39 and 40 weeks with no signs of going into labour, so I don't see an early delivery as likely.

My Dad said, "this pregnancy's gone really fast!" and my mother dug him in the ribs to shut him up. She said only other people's pregnancies go fast (-:

OH was at a stag-do yesterday - a collection of stereotypes, really, go-karting, then beer festival, then curry. He had fun, but is now "resting" on the sofa. Which looks like "sleeping on the sofa" to anyone else.....
