I'm in relatively light spirits, aside from the fact that the kids are trying to kill each other. Doozer has earphones in, watching a film on the iphone as happy as anything!
Stress will come when the small apple store in the car runs out of battery. Kids are starting to settle and twozer dog has the little gap in the middle seat to wander through, but he's on his bed now. The mercedes ( large, diesel) next to us hasn't turned his engine off in over an hour. Can't figure out why. We have power for charging and the radio. Turned the lights off though. Even our stop/start would kick in if we were trying to keep it running.
We are next to a huge milk lorry painted like a cow. Need the rolleyes smily!
Hope you got home without any further incident.
When it happened to me two or three years ago (at a similar time of night but on the M5) we got out and had a stroll around. DS got a kick out of lying down in the middle of the motorway.
That was a long night. We were on our way home from visiting my parents and got a call from my dad to say I'd left my handbag behind, complete with wallet etc, so had to go back for it. First had to carry on for ages to get to a junction to turn round. Then got stuck in stationary traffic for 3/4 hour or so, then went all they way back to parental home to get back (left by front door by my dad so I could let myself in, get it and get out without waking them. Then drove home. Their house to mine usually takes an hour but this was more than 3.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

In all my years of dealing with lawnmowers, I have never brought either the mower or the grass cuttings into the house, nor have I ever tried to fit the mower back into its box.
When you buy your new place, PN, will there be a shed or similar outside storage where you can put the mower?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Yesterday and today what was a pile of sub soil and weed and rubble has grown to be a pile of manure, rubble in shapes that form border edges ( this will be concealed with planting I hope! and weed that's been sprayed.
We're trying to decide how many tonnes of top soil to order, and horticultural grit and how many paving slabs of what type and size to avoid any cutting what so ever.0
