Of course... the next step is to get it outside and use it .... petrified I'll be electrocuted and/or it'll burst into flames. I really need somebody else to be with me when I use anything new that's electrical.....
Well done on assembling it and successfully using it.
Do you have a RCD plug for using with the lawnmower? If you don't, then it's definitely worth getting one.0 -

IKEA is a really, really annoying company. Their website's pretty rubbish, too, it falls over regularly when you are trying to use it. We've been trying to acquire some more shelves and so forth for my study and the living room, as part of our de-cluttering efforts. We ordered them last Monday, they helped themselves sharpish to my money, and then sent an email on Friday pushing the delivery date back by 9 days (until 15th May) and saying that half the stuff we wanted wasn't in stock after all.
So OH and Isaac steeled themselves, went with a printed list of stock numbers, and ordered it all at the shop in Tottenham / Edmonton.
That's lovely - it'll really suit you, and it's all lovely and impressionist. Nice one!
I want a picture frame from ikea. Well, I don't but its big enough and not expensive ( I have a big print to frame in a black frame preferably) and they said it was in stock. A friend in Brizzle drove over to get one for me so we could meet and I could get it from her, and she went round the whole store and it wasn't.
.
My print is blue tacked to wall ATM.

Nikks, could be as simple as loose wiring....
Yes, I guess it could be. I've got a feeling it's not, but that's nothing more than my guesswork. I definitely won't be switiching it on again though - will prob try and find someone to speak to over the phone and suss out whether it's worth getting someone here to look at it. In the meanwhile I'm sure I'll survive food-wise. I have a collection of things I can use to heat up food (including an impulse buy I thought I'd never get any use from
), and I could probably benefit from eating more salads (as opposed to crisps which might be what I ate this evening...).
A couple of hours before the cooker became obviously unsafe a friend invited me over for Sunday dinner which was lovely, and I'm off out for dinner tomorrow. Turns out to be quite good timing

There might be a NP meet up with meatballs at the S'ton one if you're still wanting one in about 2 months' timelostinrates wrote: »...

The friend who cooked me dinner last night has a simple but lovely wooden coat rack from Ikea. I'd like one for my hall/ bottom of the stairs. I've looked every time I've been since moving and haven't seen anything like it - she showed me it still on the website last night and it says they have stock. Not sure where they're hiding it!0 -

Well that knocks the London Marathon, an overnight flight with a an eight year old, a week of relatives followed by an Easter weekend with the in laws off the top spot. He wasn't even trying then.
If he wants sponsorship for it, I am in. Such sacrifice deserves full support.0 -
I feel very emotional today - tearful about everything and nothing! I hope that's not a sign of imminent labour, because I've been making a mess (in the interests of tidying up)....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Agree with the comments about Spirit's dress - lovely and I bet it looks even nicer on you Spirit.
I've definitely aged a lot in the past 7 months (much more than the very imminent change in my age suggests), and not just because my house and everything is it is on the brink of falling apart  Rather than spending the day nursing a hangover with my friend, we went to not one, but two garden centres. And had a cream tea. And I now have stuff to make up a couple of hanging baskets :cool:0 -

I think OH probably feels the same way (-:
He hates big shops like that, and made sure he and Isaac were beating the doors down as it opened, to avoid getting stuck in bank holiday crowds.......much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
