That was OK, but they detected protein and wired me to monitors for several hours, and having established we were both absolutely fine, I didn't get home until well after 11pm.
Glad everything OK. Have you and OH agreed on a name for Aethelbald yet?Just because you got off to a good start that was no gaurantee it would continue. As a small child DD ate everything, cabbage, liver, fish soup, muesli, fruit etc. We were smug.
By 7 she would only eat chocolate spread sandwiches for breakfast, all vegetables were off the menu, no fish except Tuna, most fruit was avoided, no milk or butter.
Generali is right, Do not compare yourself to the mythical perfection model, therein lies disaster. Realistic, practical NP and NP Mama's are much better role models:).

Indeed. The secret of a peaceful life is to recognise who they are, and give up trying to please them. I remember hearing a speaker tell a story in which he had told somebody about her mother, "Her anger is inside her head. It cannot actually jump the air space between her head and yours unless you let it." He also advised not doing whatever it was that the unreasonable mother was wanting, and saying "Then she's not controlling any more, she's just frustrated." That stuck with me.
Edit - Just wish to make crystal clear that while there have been controlling people in my life, my mother was not one of them. Or my father either.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Marking will not leave enough time for me to watch that, so, tell me, what did happen?
Hairdresser = went out, got p155ed, got in a fight, arrested, kept overnight, bailed. Sacked.
Fat sweaty lad at the smokery who was sacked (for sweating in a food place but they said he wasn't physically up to it) .... went to the garden centre and that's working out OK. He was fine with their physical work requirements.
Gay bloke at the party warehouse - wore inappropriate clothing (c0ck hugging tights) at work, didn't do his job properly, had a bad attitude ... I expect he'll be sacked soon.
Boat bloke's getting on fine - went to dinner at the boss' they won't be hiring him full-time as they are a seasonal business, but he'll put the word out to his mates to see if anybody needs anybody.0 -

He's nowhere near anorexia ATM. He always cooks for himself and DD on Wednesday nights when I go out to my group at church. Last night he made pasta with creamy parmesan sauce. Tonight he has started asking me to buy more cream so he can make it again!lostinrates wrote: »Glad picture cheered. I was furious. How on earth did he manage to keep his tummy so clean while getting his paws so covered????DS2 was a fat baby and a fat toddler, the sort that health visitors suggest could have semi skimmed milk from a young age rather than the recommended full fat.
Then he developed an inability to keep still, always jumping up and down and running around. That coupled with prefering lots of small snacks to big meals, he turned into a skinny teenager to the point where the GP nurse would try to suggest fattier foods to help him put on weight.
It's funny how they change, isn't it? DS was very fat between about 6-18m - chubby limbs and a round fat face, and then slimmed down from then on. DD was a tiny scrawny little thing for ages, but started to fill out after she went to school. She now weighs quite a bit more than he does, despite being several inches shorter than him - she has a tendency to comfort eating, especially when I am busy.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? The paws? Possibly next doors cow yards, or tracks to them
I certainly think ds's interest is something to build on.
Bit out there, but as your like raw veg, what about brandade? A dippy , fishy supper for summer?
Does he eat eggs?0 -

That won't half cause trouble!
I rather suspect that he wants to cause trouble because he disagrees with the legal aid cuts as much as the barristers do.ukmaggie45 wrote: »Salmon steaks? Smoked salmon?
Good idea, but no. DD likes salmon, but DS doesn't.ukmaggie45 wrote: »But there are also parents who don't try at all, or impose their stuff on their kids... Chicken nuggets ... I forgot to mention that he eats those too. I recently got him to eat breaded chicken escalopes by describing them as "like chicken nuggets only bigger". He tried them, liked them, and continues to be willing to eat them, but persists in calling them "giant chicken nuggets", which I fear may get him laughed at because it's a bit babyish for a 13-year-old. I have told him what they're really called, but he doesn't take any notice. I am hoping to get him to progress to eating unbreaded chicken breast.ukmaggie45 wrote: »Eeek! At a carvery it is quite acceptable to leave the fat/skin on the side of your plate if you don't like it.PasturesNew wrote: »Hairdresser = went out, got p155ed, got in a fight, arrested, kept overnight, bailed. Sacked.

But if Avatar Dog had walked through anything like that his tummy would have been muddy too, and he was taller than Kiwi, so I still don't understand how he kept his tummy so clean.lostinrates wrote: »I certainly think ds's interest is something to build on.

What's brandade? I've never heard of it.
He eats eggs if they're fried. DD likes them boiled with soldiers. I might do those this week... must see if there are eggs in the fridge.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Oh PN. That makes me so sad, to think of you putting up with things for decades, and then right at the end getting such confirmation of how calculating it was.

Brandade, a sort of white fish dip, normally had as a starter, or for crudit!s....its mashed, so 'creamy' but it's white fish.
It's a bit garlicky, but you could taper that down.0 -

Garlic's not a problem - all 3 of us like garlic.
Does one buy brandade (from where?) or make it (how?)?Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
