Took me ages experimenting to get the right gauge and even then I'm having to use wire with a high percentage of copper in for 'bendability'. I'm now worried it will be too fragile:(. I've been using a silver plated copper with grey freshwater pearls.
It sounds absolutely beautiful, viva. Can we see a picture of the work in progress?Glad to hear all is well, and will be relieved for you when the Nice Baby finally puts in appearance. I know it is dull and you had better things to do, but I am glad they hung on to you and that you cooperated.
I promise I'm sensible about that sort of thing.
Isaac was angelic - the scan was at a time where either OH or I would have to have him after literacy lesson, and OH is doing a very, very complicated 4 day hearing, with submissions today so lots of work last night.
He enjoyed the scan, was fine during the 90 minutes wait before we started monitoring (he read his school reading book to me, we got a few nights' ahead in his required reading, then I read to him from my kindle).
Once the monitoring started, I couldn't read to him (not comfortable at all in that position) and he couldn't play on my phone (those monitors). It was also getting quite late, so he was tired, and there was very little for him to do. Every so often he'd get a bit like a bee in a bottle, and I could see him sternly telling himself that he needed to behave well.
OH came to get him about 9pm, when it was clear I was going to be stuck a while longer.I have been up for a while as I woke up feeling 'odd'.
Tested and was well on my way to my first night time low/hypo. So I have sorted that out and eaten a crumpet to see me through until morning.
It has made me think...does it always wake you up?What if it doesn't?
I am going to need to find out and make a plan. I do not usually google health stuff (wimpy) ...but I am going to be brave and do this.
Are you diabetic, or is it some associated blood glucose issue? Do be careful Spirit, look after yourself and be sensible and co-operative yourself....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

No listening to sad music after make up goes on.....
Up I go to wash and reapply war paint.
Poor LiR. Some lessons have to be learnt. What was it and did you know it would have this effect?
I cry on hearing Canon in D (Pachabel) don't know why just moves me to tears.
The Killers Human. I had this album at the time the boys died and the lyrics are burned into my heart. http://www.elyricsworld.com/human_lyrics_the_killers.html0 -
Bugslet I may be imagining this...but I thought you were vegan.
I also loved the muddy paws. So cute is it sis not your carpet they are standing on.
I think bugs said that she was vegan at home, and ate what was going when out and about? I might have remembered wrongly, though....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

That paints a picture of stoicism. Sounds very adorable (probably not what an eight year old boy wants to hear) . Well done Isaac.
I am type 2 diabetic, currently controlled by a combination of injectable and oral meds. The downside is that you cannot regulate for variety and in the last weeks I have started swinging about ..I posted when I crunched my car probably because of a hyper.
On the cusp of insulin dependent now I think.
On the bright side I may be getting my car back in the next day or two. The courtesy car is a vauxall corsa, when I was grumbling about it earlier in the week DD reminded me that if I do not want to drive courtesy cars I should not drive over bollards.0 -
Question to the nice peeps who know something about mobile calls/data plans.
Is this - (the Virgin Mobile big text and data) - a good deal?
And I suppose the 'unlimited' bit only applies to the 45 days bonus after joining?
http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/vm/genericContent.do?contentId=payasyougo.our.tariff.shop.sm285
If this deal sucks, any other plans you'd recommend? It needs to be payg and provide enough data for low to moderate browsing/emailing.0 -
All a bit me me me. I know from reading there are other NP with lots more going on to annoy them.
If there's anything I learned from my Dad being ill & then dead with Alzheimer's it's that loads of terrible stuff happens to other people which to them is hugely important but you to, the crappy stuff in your life is just a little bit more pressing.
Beggur the rest. You are just as entitled to feel sad as anyone else that has had something bad happen to them. It might by, like me, that your knee has ached all day because you whacked it on the bed this morning and now you're quite grumpy about it. It might be, like a conversation I think I overheard in the hospital, an old woman having chemo was trying to keep the cycles in routine with her Grandson where possible so Mum could go to work.
Both are bad things, there's no point in comparing though as there's always going to be some poor sod worse off than you.0 -
There was some discussion on the NP thread earlier this year about substantial cuts to legal aid.
A judge at Southwark Crown Court has, today, stayed a prosecution for fraud in relation to 5 Defendants, because they cannot get any barrister to represent them at the lowered rates. He refused the prosecution application to adjourn, and instead stayed for abuse of process (translation - chucked the case out).
That won't half cause trouble!
84. Having considered all these matters I am compelled to conclude that to allow the State an adjournment to put right its failure to provide the necessary resources to permit a fair trial to take place now amounts to a violation of the process of this court.
85. The knock-on effect on other trials, the waste of court resources and the need to disregard the Criminal Procedure Rules designed to protect the court system from abuse and to ensure that scare resources are used to best effect all, in my judgment, add to the reasons why an adjournment should not be granted.

I saw that in the news a while ago. That's the PM's brother, Alex Cameron, defending, right?
http://www.theguardian.com/law/2014/apr/28/david-cameron-brother-legal-aid-cuts
Is that why they call it 'bro bono' in your linked pdf?
19. Mr Alex Cameron QC has appeared bro bono in these proceedings to advance the argument on behalf of the defendants that I should stay the proceedings because they are unrepresented through no fault of their own and that I should not grant an adjournment because the possibility that at some unknown date in the future an adequately funded advocate may become available is no basis on which to grant an adjournment.0 -
Or as the daily mail would see it scroats who ripped off pensioners walk free cos barristers not willing to get out of bed for only 84k per annum. 'Have you seen what private sschool costs these days?' says spokesperson for barristers.
DDs found it very amusing when I was blubbing last night reading bit in the hunger games where Rue dies.I think....0
