Obviously, once I had got back to sleep, I was absolutely deeply and happily so when the time came to drag myself out of bed.... Sod's law, innit?
My dad was paying a lot more that that. A lot more, in London. Local rate here is £12:50 -15 through agencies ( I get cards through the dodo a lot ) or more, double, but for two cleaners an hour, which agencies prefer, and in think its wise for their staffs safety and accusations against them...so you could get ten or less direct. I'd not want to exploit someone in the least.
Unlike your oh I actually think cleaning is , or can be, something good. Direct transfer of wealth, often forms close bonds of loyalty and friendship and support. Same with gardening. I actually think it should be encouraged and strongly taken out of black market economy, which stinks.0 -

You have a trained dodo that brings business cards back to you? That's amazing!
I love your typos

The Girl was showing off her impression of a flamingo the other day. As far as I can see it's a one legged bird that can play the castanets.0 -

However legitimately you pay and contract, you can still get ripped off!
As I found, having 2 cleaners at a time, one cleans and the other thieves. Though my experience may be untypical.
My gardeners have a written contract and are paid by standing order. I would think gardeners would find it harder to work solely in the black market as they have vans and equipment that could be spotted.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. If so etching is wrong you can put it right yourself, rather than facing the wrath of the kitchen, and I can confirm if you are young and female what you can earn in tips is very, very good. Event bars are phenomenal, splitting your tips at them is not.
Well, maybe what we think of as bars varies... I've never seen anybody tip in a bar.
I've no idea what an event bar is either.
I've only ever been in grubby pubs
That's what I think of when I see 'bar work' 0 -

Events bars....like at the racing....not steady jobs but places people like to feel a bit flash, and behave badly, but are prepared to pay to do so.
Edit: I've also had a cour of pub jobs. I liked them. Employers were horrid, customers were mixed. Tips still made up my wage, but not in the same way.0 -
