Sport and gardening. When I posted on here that was quite a lot of what was being discussed.

This is a quote from an abstract REFERRING SPECIFICALLY to a particular condition not things like depression or burnout ok, so nobody panic because some bird with a broken brain is trying to the too hard.....which got me thinking. While its a very specific area, I'm guess I'm curious as to whether altered biochem from other aiteologies is also impactful in this way. I have neither inclination, nor energy to look beyond where I am looking ATM, though I read things I stumble across looking for other stuff. I think that might be how I fell on this.

'M. Long-standing hypercortisolism may cause some degree of irreversible pathological damage and induce highly individualised affective responses based on each patient's psychological assets and liabilities. As a result, upon normalisation of cortisol levels, treatment may still be required, and should encompass both psychotherapeutic strategies (particularly cognitive-behavioural therapies that have been found to be effective in affective disorders) and psychotropic drug treatment [antidepressants such as tricyclic agents and selective serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine; 5-HT) reuptake inhibitors]. In patients with severe anxiety, benzodiazepines (e.g. clonazepam in small doses) may also be helpful.'

My pharmacology knowledge is a good 30+ years out of date, but I seem to remember there used to be a lot of overlap about treatments for anxiety and depression, as one condition could trigger the other.

Quitting caffeine cured my anxiety. It was amazing.

Finally completed my pilgrimage to the spiritual home of the NP. Not disappointed, hoping it would be warmer though.

I remember reading a while ago (don't know if it's still true) that people are more likely to divorce than move banks for current accounts.

I changed my Bank account once in 1985 from Lloyds to NatWest to get their Gold Card.

I 've been divorced once in 1990

I have been thinking of moving my account from NatWest, so I had better warn the wife

I assumed they were still like that!

    Goodness no!

My parent's van is approx 20 years old and it has normal beds, electricity, heating (not central heating though), comfy sofas etc etc etc. It really is a home from home and very comfortable to stay in.

Re holidays, we can do that quite cheaply here, certainly cheaper than taking the boys abroad. For caravan sites, you need to scour the private lets rather than direct, some stonking deals can be had, sometimes, a tiny proportion of what the site is asking for.

For days out, sitting on the beach costs a couple of ice creams, walking along the river bank costs the price of a swift half at the pub (or 4 orange cordials - tip, want a drink at a pub, get cordial). Or go for a walk along the sea front, you can do this for nothing by taking your own drink/food or you could always buy a few refreshments along the way.

On site - sit by the swimming pool, costs absolutely nothing. Read a book whilst watching the world go by, costs absolutely nothing. Have a BBQ, only the cost of the food and that can be done pretty cheaply too.

We only go to the clubhouse a couple of times during our holiday and even then our spend is only a couple of pounds (4x cordials at 40p each - jugs of water absolutely free).

Me and lovveerrr quite often discuss/disagree on days out - he is of the go out on planned days every single day of the school holidays to places which charge stupid amounts as it is the right thing to do and he just cannot seem to understand that for us, going to those sorts of places is a once or at the most, twice a year event due to cost. Over the last week, he has got through approx 1k taking his one child out and about...in the same amount of time, I have spent less than a tenth of that amount on 3. In his mind, one normal day out for a family of four would consist of entry fees of a minimum of £80, plus fuel, plus food and drink, plus tat bought to remember the day and in the school holidays, you would do that pretty much every single blooming day!

I don't have a grand spare for a weeks worth of school holiday activities.....I've also told him that I don't think it would be a good idea for us to go on holiday together, I go on holiday to relax, not to be stuck in a car or rushing about like a headless chicken! :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

    I got below average score.

PN it won't give you a score, just shows you where you are on the sliding scale and a sentence interpreting the results.

I got above average but below the threshold.....as I expected really.
