I thought this Test might be of interest to the NP's

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2610201/Do-YOU-signs-autism-Take-test-youre-one-rising-number-condition.html

I scored above average but below spectrum.

I got above average score but below the threshold.
I've spent the last 3-4 hours googling, and spreadsheeting, the various options on attending some short-term courses.

... I do think that adult/evening education really hasn't kept up with modern times.

My local adult education / university offers a few online courses. I did one, which was interesting but the quality of the teaching (from a post-graduate student) didn't fill me with inspiration and I'm not convinced that I felt I got value for money.
This is the sort of cake my mother does for weddings, sugar flowers and all. This was for my best mate's wedding

    That's beautiful, such an achievement.

Thing we bought on ebay has arrived and is NOT as described.

I really hate it when people aren't honest about their stuff?

PN it won't give you a score, just shows you where you are on the sliding scale and a sentence interpreting the results.

    The correct procedure

    1. Complain to seller, ask what they are going to do to put it right/ refund

    2. Complain to ebay and/or paypal

    3. Use social media to expose the dishonesty and leave feedback

    The incorrect procedure

    1. Send emails every hour complaining

    2. Threaten to go to local newspapers/ facebook/ twitter exposing them as liars

    3. Threaten to sue in court.

How much was involved? Worth getting irate over?

    Goodnight Lydiaj. Hopefully, powering down...

    Thanks Tahlullah :)

Have been back at work today - for inset. A great day. Caught up with my work friends, had some really helpful whole school sessions in the morning (especially the one that I thought was going to be dire) and a productive departmental time in the afternoon. Power definitely back on this evening. :)

This sounds familiar to me. I didn't feel hopeless, but am class one at beating myself up. I went to the doctor because I felt physically ill with headaches and fatigue, and 'couldn't cope' (the words that seemed to ring the bell for my GP) with what everyone else seems to manage just fine.

It took a clear CT scan of my head and reading a book from the library about depression for the lightbulb to come on. I don't think depression is what most people think it is. The blog posts on Time to Change are excellent.
The interesting thing is......this also leaves me feeling tilted, washed out and often like I don't give a damn! One of the things that's been notable in more recent months is how much I am struggling. I am really tearful, a lot. I don't feel 'depressed' in that I feel sad necessarily, just 'tearful'.

The way it was explained to me is that "sad", "can't cope", "tearful" and "low mood" are all overwhelmed feelings, and that antidepressants are good because they make things feel less overwhelming (and bring elevated stress hormones down). But I don't feel overwhelmed except very occasionally. Most of the time I feel very much underwhelmed. I don't fail to do things like cooking because they feel overwhelming to me (they don't), but because unless I need to do them to avoid letting an outsider down, then although I half-heartedly intend to do things, I just CBA to get round to beginning (stress hormones already too low). When I do need to do things to avoid letting outsiders down, I cope just fine with getting them done - on time if being on time really matters, and late otherwise.

Ergo, they tell me, antidepressants wouldn't help. I would be happy to be proved wrong about this. In many ways it would make life much easier if I had something that would respond to medication, but so far what I am being told is that I haven't.

I am actually not beating myself up much at all, IMO. I am taking all sorts of short-cuts - buying ready made food, making the kids do lots of stuff for themselves, finding ways to "spend time with them" that involve no effort from me like watching TV with them (individually rather than together), employing a cleaner to clean and a builder to do things that are little more than odd jobs, not bothering to do things that we can manage without doing (like ironing), etc etc.

I get told I'm beating myself up too much when I say that I've been like this for years and am not seeing enough improvement, which frustrates me *because* my kids need and deserve the only parent they've got to be able to be enthusiastic about stuff and initiate things beyond the basically functional (and also to make meals and bedtimes happen on time rather than 3 hours later than planned). I disagree that it's OK for them to go on having to put up with me being like this for the long term.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

About £ 80 purchase and £90 delivery. Delivery would have been cheaper but was based on what was meant to be. Delivery driver, ( lovely guy ) said ...I'm not meant to get involved..but I like to tell people before they see it so that the news is broken....it s not x ...you'll be able to carry it,

Not worth suing. Not worth irate. But worth a complaint and a bit of neg feedback. I'm prepared to believe it might be a poor mistake of ignorance, but one seller should consider taking some responsibility for and their buyers should consider when buying from their descriptions.

My GP left a note on file saying repeat in three months. Well, not sure how I feel about waiting three months tbh. I was hoping if I'd flunked I'd get surgery pronto.....like, June/ July maybe.:o

Hope you can redo the test sooner than that.

If the problem was not feeling strong enough to squat, could you acquire or borrow a commode that you could put the funnel and container underneath so that strength and squatting will not be necessary?

I'm Below average. In the test ;)

    So am I.
Shame it doesn't give a score; in fact, it's a confusing end of the test with half the words missing off the screen. I got "A higher than average score that is above the clinical threshold"

I wanted a score too. What's the point of telling me that the average is 16.4 if you're not going to tell me what my actual score was? Judging from the position of the pointer on the scale, and the fact that there were 50 questions, I think my score was about 11.

How badly wrong is the mismatch?
