    That all looks good.

Did you enjoy the day? Any sign of Jelly?

Congratulations on the safe arrival of the seedlings:)

Yes, it was a really lovely day. The bride looked beautiful. Didn't spot anyone that looked like lemonjelly described. He may have been hiding though :)

Glad you are feeling better today. Please take care of yourself, yesterday sounds horrible.

Looking good! Love the deep pink and green - is the thing PasturesNew thinks looks like a wellie one of your purple shoes? If so, fantastic colour. :T Hope you had fun at the wedding.

Yup, that was the toe of one shoe. They are synthetic, but do look much less wellie-like in real life. Definitely wouldn't wear them for gardening!

Great photos by the way, you garden looks lovely :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
Leg of lamb was £11 a kilogram in waitrose today!

    I prefer shoulder.

I have one bag of lamb left in freezer and no idea what's in it. Not a roasting bit or chops though:( I'll probably brave it next weekend. The first big dog food delivery fro. The people who only come once a month comes this week. After than I should get an idea how much room is left in the freezer. I have some pork in a friends freezer to come home soon, but not too much, a big joint, a ham and a couple of kg of bacon I think.

Then, I'll consider a lamb for freezer. :)

But are all lambs the same? Maybe some are better quality that others.

No idea - I've never bought a leg of anything.

The lamb chops I had last night were £14.40kg from the farm shop.

Food miles not many as they are from the farm, so went of to abbatoir then back to farm.

That matters to me. I can't do it for everything but usually can for meat and most veg.

Generali's luscious mangoes would arrive here after a long expensive journey.. but would be delicious.

    Yes please ( to recipe)

    2.5kg (5 1/2 lbs) crab-apples, washed
    6 cloves
    sugar (amount set out below).

    1. Cut crabbles into quarters without peeling or coring, and put into preserving pan with the cloves and 1.7L (3 pints) water. Bring to boil and simmer gently for about 1 1/2 hours or until the fruit is soft and pulpy, adding a little more water if necessary. Stir from time to time to prevent sticking.

    2. Spoon the fruit pulp into a jelly bag or cloth attached to the legs of an upturned stool, and leave to strain into a large bowl for at least 12 hours. [My tip - do not stir or push the fruit through the bag, or it will go cloudy on setting].

    3. Discard the pulp remaining in the jelly bag. Measure the extract and return it to the pan with 450g (1 lb) sugar for each 600ml (1 pint) extract. Heat gently, stirring, until the sugar has dissolved, then boil rapidly for about 10 minutes or until setting point is reached.

    4. Remove any scum with a slotted spoon, then pot and cover in the usual way.
I think mine's variable. Dr tests in the past have said I've high blood pressure and low blood pressure. Any physical exertions (even simple box moving) makes me go light headed though. Any bending/standing does.

My Dad has fainted twice after standing for too long; this was found to be low blood pressure, even though he's on tablets for high blood pressure. Best to get it checked out.

We have half of pudding left. I have a team meeting first thing on a Monday morning to set the tone for the week. I might set the tone with pudding.

Cake or pudding always sets a good tone for a meeting ;):D

Thanks Nikkster! :) We were very lucky that the previous owner was a keen gardener. We have colour somewhere in the garden all year. Gradually we are changing some things, but very slowly as so much is magical already. But the far end of the garden was really scary when we moved here - covered in brambles, ivy and weeds, weeds, weeds! OH really enjoyed clearing it using his right angled fork, but we still have brambles coming up. But one great thing is that we found an azalia that had been bramble choked, and last year it flowered for the first time for us. I need to prune more of the dead wood off, but it's looking even better and with more flowers this year. :)

Some photos of the back of the garden (October 2009) before moved in, to give you an idea! ;)

Our daughter has reached a milestone today. She has registered for an HL ISA.

Might not seem much to you, but this is her first year of working full time and that she has made a 'serious' saving decision of her own has completely taken me by surprise. I underestimate her.

Her first goal is a planned trip to Hong Kong and Oz in Nov/Dec for about four weeks.

She has saved into a Pension fund from 18, OH thinks she is doing just fine and i worry too much.:)
